Awaiting the October USMNT Roster Announcement

The Sporting News Roster Prediction
If we see a good, relatively full-strength squad called up this camp, what are our thoughts on Poch's approach to this point regardless of results in these two matches (Ecuador and Australia)?
If we win both convincingly, does that change the thoughts/feelings on it?
The reason I ask is that I just commented on the USMNT abroad thread about liking Freeman / Luna / Zendejas, and it occurred to me that likely all three of them are not starters and provide higher quality depth for the team overall behind the likes of Dest / Tillman / Weah, respectively.
Add to that list the niche role players found like a Seb Berhalter (set pieces), and Matt Freese seemingly coming from nowhere to compete for (and likely has taken) the number one spot between the sticks, and I don't know that we had ever identified that much depth or niche ability under Gregg.
Just a thought. I'm trying my best not to be on either side quite yet in terms of Poch's approach but still have a positive thought regarding it.
I don't care much about the Australia game, but if we handle Ecuador confidently, I am way more excited moving into the next couple or few camps into the World Cup.

Not really, I think the way we've handled things to this point has been counterintuitive and it's been frustrating to see us not play with any joy or confidence, while Poch has made some really stupid comments.
But at the end of the day, whether we win 2-0 or lose 0-2, none pf this matters until next June. All will be forgiven if the method to this madness leads to a deep run.

Fair take. I'm typically of the opinion that a coach owes no explanation to the fans, but there should be a method that is visible.
I will admit that I haven't "seen" the method up to this point... Hopefully the method was just to call up fringe players or high potential players to identify and evaluate depth options while promoting growth among the pool, emphasizing play time at the club level.
We shall see! I'm nervous and excited to see the roster/response.

I am curious to see what Pochetino says about not picking Tyler Adams this cycle.
A minor knock?
Unfortunately it’s clear that Sargent is on the outside looking in. Scaly as well (fwiw I’ve watched him probably 8 times and he’s never looked good, but I realize he has a good resume).

I would imagine with Adams he is a known commodity and he is getting a look at Morris and Tessman which I am very glad both of them are in this camp
I don't get the Scally thing. He is much further along than Freeman and can also play RCB in a 3 man backline as well. Just very strange
Sargent appears to be toast. Big Pat is back. Yay? Glad as well that Haji is in this camp
Yunus also appears to be on the outs

Apparently Adams is expecting to be a father in the coming days, and that’s why he is staying in England. Good for him
Yeah, the two guys who I think Pochetino doesn’t rate at all are Sargent and Scally.
ETA: Also Jesus Ferreira
Musah…we’ll see. Too big of a name to completely blow off imo.
The only two players who I don’t think should have been called up are Agyemang and Cristian Roldán.

Who would you replace those guys with?
The Scally thing is weird but the rumor is that he was doing donuts in a golf cart and hit Poch’s car. Sounds far fetched but weirder things have happened.

It’s easy for me
Agyemang would be out and I’d put Sargent in his place.
I’d take Roldán out and replace him with Musah. If not Musah, then de la Torre.

I think those are both reasonable, especially Sargent. It frustrates me that he can’t seem to produce in the national team shirt but I think part of that comes down to our inability to consistently create chances in the final third. I guess Poch’s reasoning is likely that he’s seen what the other guys offer and wants to see what Roldan and Agyemang can do with a full camp with the full strength squad.

I would agree with this if none of our 9's were scoring.
But in the time since Sargent last scored for the USMNT (2019 Nations League vs Cuba), 9's that have scored for us include Pepi, Balogun, Ferreira, Wright, Agyemang and Ayo fricking Akinola.
Sargent is currently on a 17-match appearance streak without a goal.
