What is the level of optimism for the next game against SC?

Is the season over? Or does that give us a better chance of finishing 10-2?

At least MVB can run for a first down

We turn into a completely different team. MVB has SEC experience. We now have a qb with viable run options. Which at this point is needed because #18 will not run the football.

This team isn't finishing 10-2.

Post game Hannigriff summed it up perfectly: Sloan is running his offense with personnel (nussmeyer) that can’t do what he needs them to do. Basically he needs a running qb to run his offense, which is incompetent coaching, knowing the type of statue our qb is.

MVB has a better chance of going 10-2 than this version of nuss

2 weeks ago I would have said that scenario was a championship hopes ending disaster. Now, not so much.

Not because I'm in the "Nuss sucks camp" (I don't think that at all). But because it is abundantly clear that with THIS QB, THIS personnel, THIS OC, and THIS approach, the offense is not going to be productive.

So if the coaching staff is not going to tweak the approach, then the only other option is to change the personnel. The only position that hasn't been changed is QB.

A healthy MVB is better than a hurt Nuss, at least in this offense.

MVB will scramble when the play breaks down. MVB can be rolled out of the pocket to make it easier for the oline to block.

Hes not half the passer that a healthy Nuss is - but Nuss isnt half the passer he should be right now either.

I think people on here are overvaluing MVB’s ability to run

Removing SLU game, LSU is struggling to score 18pts and the schedule just gets harder. My optimism would sky rocket as I see 8-4 if nothing changes.

I posted last night that the best thing to do is announce that he’s gonna have surgery and rehab for the draft. It’s painfully obvious he’s a shell of himself and can’t make 30-40yd throws. 2 deep shots Saturday were under thrown by 10 yards where those were easy TDs last year. I understand they thought he could push through and just hit every throw 20yds and under but it’s been a disaster

No one is saying he’s Lamar Jackson but he actually will take off and attempt to run. Half the battle is actually showing defenses you are a threat with your legs nuss doesn’t do that

Yeah maybe so but MVB not as dual-threat as many think
Just 169 yards rushing at Miss State

thinking that Sloan is a capable OC just being held back by a 5th year senior, pocket passer coming off a 4,000 yard season is peak stupidity.

Also have to factor in sack yardage also goes into your rushing totals

Lebby's scheme doesnt include designed QB runs. So all of that is scramble minus sack yardage.

Not over, offense is suited for a dual threat qb, plus he will hit the deep ball. Defenses can’t just key on the rb. Could open up the offense. I’ll wait and judge after the South Carolina game.

MVB will take pressure off the oline at least and should open up the run game. Kelly and Nuss are going to sabotage this season.

It's the best fix for right now. Sloan and Davis are still major liabilities but it at least gives us a QB capable of running the style of offense that Sloan refuses to deviate from

I like MVB but I’m not sure you are beating A&M, Bama, or OU. Still beat Arky and probably SC bc it’s at home.
