The market would have completely sorted this issue out in time, but crusading Karens couldn’t wait and more importantly couldn’t abide different views on the issue.

But muh secondhand smoke

1 - I was skeptical of the data pre-Covid and after 2020 I can’t believe any of it
2 - No one is forced to work, eat, or shop anywhere (again, the market would have sorted it out)
3 - Nanny government certainly has no problem making money off cigarettes

I’m not a smoker. When I see ‘smoking banned’ etc. it still grates at me.

inb4 I am a leftist because I want the market and not government to decide issues like this

There are plenty of private business where you can smoke. Shelly’s is a block from the White House.

Lol yes it was. As long as govt money is used to treat sick old boomers, then the govt will tell people how to live in order to manage future costs.

Them’s the rules. Don’t like it? Don’t go outside, grow tobacco and roll your own

Terrible precedent. And I've never smoked in my life, hate the smell of it. So i don't go in smoky restaurants and bars. See how that works?

They will use the same rationale to ban table salt and butter one day.

If that's the case, limit over weight people from drinking cokes and eating fast food.

I was a smoker at the time and I didn't care for government intervention but I completely understood why businesses would do it on their own. But what really annoyed me was that when bars and restaurants all built nice patios for smokers the Karens were all, "What about us? We might like to go outside too." That was bullshite.

To be fair, I can sit in a McDonalds every day for a year while a bunch of fat fricks eat butter and salt drenched fries 24/7 and I won't gain a pound.

A case could be made for second hand fat

Judging by how many porkers I have worked with over the years, I don't think that is a thing.

I bet you would. First you'll just try a couple of fries one day bc you ran late and skipped your green smoothie for breakfast. Next thing you know it, you'll be two-fisting McRibs.

While I agree, OSHA exists and bans and/or regulates things way more extensively than smoking.

Private businesses are also places of employment. I have a thousand different rules of what I can or cannot do at my business.

Is smoking the Rubicon that "grates" you?
