Kelly was never a good coach. Do you like this better than my previous post below:

Kelly was a good coach before NIL came along. Without top tier coordinators, he’s average at best.

This program deserves a young head coach that’s calls plays on at least one side of the ball.

The fact that he’s as clueless as he is with a GM and a large support cast, is absolutely mind boggling.

Program needs a reset.

It is a lot easier to change the QB but if he doesn't do it yes something is wrong with him.

Kelly is obviously not in over his head - c'mon now
Sloan and Davis on the other hand - I think they are in over their heads

Kelly botched keeping Sloan, that's about it so far that I can see.

problem is he already botched his initial defensive hires and now the offensive replacement hires. so even if he brings in a top notch OC next year, it often times takes until year two and beyond to get to championship level. By then, Baker will be a head coach somewhere and it will depend on how well he replaced defensive staff.

There is a serious systemic program flaw that starts with Brian Kelly that everyone wants to blame on everyone else, but him.

When has LSU had a fundamentally sound, strong running game since he became coach?

Other than Jayden Daniels freakish athletic talent, and ability to run out of the pocket, LSU’s running game has been non existent since he arrived in Baton Rouge.

This is a cultural problem. It’s not an OC problem, it’s not a talent problem, it’s not all the O-line coaches fault. It’s a soft attitude towards creating a physically, tough running game.

If you can’t run the ball consistently and effectively you will never have a championship program.

More like Joe Sloan and Brad Davis are so far under their head. I'll give them a chance to put in MVB. If they don't and the season continues as on, I'll officially be on the BK fire train. For sure Joe Sloan and Brad Davis will get fired by the end of the year.

We lost by 5 points on the road against a team that is now #4 in the country. Of course, there are some glaring issues with this team when you zoom in on that, but let's have at least a tiny bit of perspective when talking about the program as a whole and the direction we are headed with recruiting, the portal, etc. The sky is not falling, we simply just lost a big game on the road because we played poorly.
