The federal judge's forcing the LA issue is pretty much what's led to this as the LA redistricting issue is likely to be found unconstitutional.
From the start though I've blamed Jeff (and still do) for not having the balls to stand up to the courts and fight it. Instead, he used it to play politics (getting Graves removed for not kissing the ring and rewarding Fields for playing ball).

The more impressive part is how little this looks “gerrymandered”

Is the one in TX done? For some reason I have not seen much on it, of course I am an idiot and could have just skipped over it.

I think Landry knew it would be declared unconstitutional and went with it to get it into the courts. Getting rid of Graves was langinappe

Im gonna take a wild guess and say that blue district dominates the rest of the state in violent crimes.

Landry cut a deal with Cleo to get him elected as governor and to punish Graves for not supporting him. Landry is a POS and is all about himself.
Also, there were shenanigans on the vote count in Cleo's race with Elbert Guillory. Non-registered voters went 28-1 for Cleo. That's mathematically impossible. That entire district and seat is illegitimate and it's bullshite enough people aren't screaming about all of it.

In 2025, Texas is undergoing a significant redistricting process that aims to redraw congressional maps, primarily targeting five Democratic-held seats to favor Republicans. The Texas State House passed these maps on August 20, 2025, with a vote of 88–52, and they are set to take effect for the 2026 midterm elections. This redistricting is part of a broader strategy that could impact representation for communities across the state.

Fresh idea... any district that cannot keep its violent crime within a certain percentage of state averages... loses its right to participate in elections. All elected positions within the district become appointed until such time as violent crime comes down to whatever metric.

Perhaps, but the district could have no sway on state or federal elections.
