There was another shooting near City Hall as well.

Crazy cat lady sheriff needs to stand down and send in the National Guard

The national guard wouldn’t have prevented this shooting.

We have a broken home and misguided youth problem in the city. Reinforce family values, dismantle welfare for able bodied people, reform the prison system to focus on rehabilitation and life skill training, and invest in the local economy and maybe in 20/30 years you’d see a marked improvement.

Canal and any corner is not a corner to stand on.

Canal & Bourbon, such an amazing night life spot in that shite hole of a city. That corner could be an historic landmark with all the crosses of the dead placed there. BUT we don’t have crime says that Mayor. You put the National Guard there at night, all that garbage is gone.

How bad is it when you survive Chiraq only to be killed on Bourbon Street?

Some of you guys are brave. 10:00 PM is my time to exit that area of Bourbon.
I still love to go down there day drinking and be shutting it down before the weed smoking crowd starts hanging out..

Doesn't the law specify about carrying while intoxicated?
Do the police even know the laws they're enforcing?

Totally agree with you, but it’s insane it has to be that way.

I hope Landry sends the national guard and puts a base on that corner. 0 reason we allow one of the most visible areas of the city to be overrun by morons because “that’s just how it is”

I would disagree. The culture will retreat to areas they are not

We a poverty issue. Folks need opportunities and a sense of self worth. Put down the gun and pick up a book. We need a robust community intervention system where pastors and community leaders can access troubled youth in times of need.

DUI threshold is lower if carrying with CHP.

If not driving and you are carrying while intoxicated, CHP suspended and possibly revoked (multiple infractions)

This would do absolutely nothing. Hoodrats view doing prison time as a badge of honor.

Just proves how completely out of touch she is. Who is listening to her? Thugs don't watch the news.

Anything short of mass incarceration (5% of the city population at least) will not fix the death spiral that city is currently on.
