Teams have to be careful with calf injuries (see the NBA players who are missing this season because they returned too soon). Scott Shanle said when it happened that a calf injury requires a minimum of 4 weeks rest.

Happened to the Astros. Jake Meyers came back early with a calf injury and nearly missed two months.

You figure the Saints would have IR'd him knowing that. Apart from last season, a contract year, this seems to be par for the course for Young.

Then why wasn't he put on the 4 week IR?
Everyone acted like it was some incredibly minor thing that happened in practice and he might miss a week at most.
Its been a full month now, without a practice of any kind.

Who cares? This team is dogshit, Chase Young won’t change a thing. This is probably the swan song for Cam and Demario and I fully expect we trade at least one or maybe both of Olave and Shaheed for draft picks. Both are due for new contracts but we can’t sink money into skill positions until we have a solid OL/DL and a legitimate QB. We have none of that right now.

Loomis sunk 17-18 million a year just for Reid and Cooks. I’m sure we have money for our better receivers.

He played every game last year…and ended the year with 5 1/2 sacks. He runs himself out of the play half the time. Not impressed.

Saints straight dumpster diving at this point.
Might as well as start creating media driven profiles for each player and their journey to the Saints.
Showing the conditions they lived in, and how far they got in life.
Just dont show the arrest or domestic "schandle" behind every player.
But end each series where they come running out of the tunnel.
