LSU Relegated to the Southwest Conference

I hated conference expansion when it happened and look at the results Two of LSU's permanent opponents aren't SEC schools. Out of 10 original SEC members we only get one, Ole Miss. So much for SEC tradition and the games we played and looked forward to every year--Alabama, Florida, Miss. St., and Kentucky. Instead, we get to be in the Southwest Conference. Who thinks this is an improvement?.

Would rather play Ole Miss, Arky, and A&M each year than Bama, Florida, and Auburn.

He probably has no clue
His next thread will be ‘what will our 9 OOC game schedule look like in 2026?’

You know permanent opponents are a reflection of traditional rivals--except in LSU's case.

Some TV exec hellbent on commodifying every aspect of college football into a sellable package regardless of how it impacts the fanbases that grew the sport to such a degree it became an attractive product in the first place.
My personal line in the sand is after the 1992 expansion, but I agree with your general sentiment.

If you don't see how those three give us a better chance of getting to the playoffs, then I don't know what to tell you...
From a historical standpoint, and if I was a casual fan, then sure...let's play Bama, UF and Auburn.
But that's not how this works anymore.

i wanted 3 of these 4: AU, Bama, UF, OM
those are the games that have been the most entertaining over the last 25 years.....

I don’t hate the new opponents…..historical nostalgia tells you that you want Bama there and I get it. I feel that too. However, common sense tells you that not having Bama on your schedule is a good thing. Unless DeBoar really is the second coming of Mike Dubose and Mike Shula rolled into one person…..in that case too bad we don’t play them every year.

I don't disagree from an entertainment standpoint.

You cannot be a season ticket holder. You probably sit at home and gripe that the stadium looks empty. We want good games at home, sorry A&M is boring.

Hard disagree.

LSU-Ole Miss: 113 meetings, first in 1894, LSU leads 66-43-4

LSU-A&M: 63 meetings, first in 1899, LSU leads 36-24-3

And that was all pre College Playoffs, its a new time, LSU can adapt or get left behind.
Personally i'll take watching LSU in the playoffs every year.
