I didn’t like Trump’s speech here. I’m sorry y’all.

I love ole Donald, but I think JD’s speech was much more fitting for this particular moment. I know I’ll catch some flak, but I think a strong, short eulogy would’ve been better. JD is a future super star because he can fit a little easier into these things. Trump is always Trump. For better or worse. MAGA forever though.

I think Charlie would have loved it exactly because it was Trump being himself. He honored him by pushing forward.

DJT needs to come to know who Jesus is.

Also, remember when Peter grabbed the sword and cut off the soldiers ear?
We all have some growing to do.

Trump is the worst speaker in the Trump administration. I’m not sure why this would come as a shock.

Well yeah, and I’m a huge Trump fan too. But the thing about hating your enemies in direct contradiction to Charlie at his funeral? Just not necessary.

Agree he should’ve kept it a little more somber and a little less rally-ish. But Trump gonna Trump and Charlie loved him some MAGA.

I agree. Trump should’ve been on a strict script here.

I think he just wanted to weave in policies/accomplishments that Charlie wanted and fought for.

Wasn’t my cup of tea either, but it comes with the package. Charlie certainly wouldn’t have minded. Erika seemed not to, either.

The media will make it all about Trump disrupting the spirit/flow (which he did), its your job to remember everything that came before that moved you, and to remember that Charlie would have been on board with everywhere Trump took it.

Maybe that’s the plan.

Trump has a finite amount of time left, where Vance has 8 years waiting for him.

Therefore, let Vance seem more “Presidential” and Trump can keep being himself.

Trump is Trump. Warts and all and not perfect by any means. We all know this and some times we love it and some times we cringe a little bit. It is what it is, but I'm damn glad he's leading our country right now.

This is the correct take, imo.

exactly, Trump is the fix all the dysfunction president while Vance is the bring everybody together president

Trump takes all the hits for being aggressive and somewhat negative, set the stage for vance to be the kinder gentler guy

He was making the point how good Charlie was to his core. And what a mistake it was for him to be killed. Out of his whole speech that completely showed how stupid it was to assassinate Charlie.

Not everyone is like Charlie. I'm not. He was a better man. Trump was being honest to point to Charlie's true faith.

I know he didn’t mean anything bad by it, just a weird thing to say in that position. It’s Trump, and he’s gonna be Trump.

Trump is Trump. He is standing between us and the Abis. He takes the fire. You have to respect that.
