The Jimmy Kimmel show wasn't cancelled because of what he said about CK...

It was cancelled because his numbers were shite AND THEN he alienated half the population with stupid remarks about a recent political assassination. Disney is going to make money, that's what they care about. They aren't going fork up the money to provide you a platform to get the equivalent viewers of a low level sec football game. He will piss and moan about free speech and fascism. But this simply comes down to the free market, and people not watching his lame show.

You are exactly right. But the timing allows them to disguise the firing cause to their benefit.

My theory is he knew he was getting canceled. By making a remark about CK, he can claim that he was canceled for politics rather than ratings.

That's not how they run their theme parks, or film enterprise. They have consistently sought to alienate half the population, which suggests that they are about political persuasion in addition to money, even when it costs them and their stockholders money

Correct. Follow the money. This just gave ABC a chance to cancel a money losing program. They should do the same with their evening news.

I hope they go broke.

I'd pay per view "the view" before I subscribe to Disney and that ain't happening.

I love how they conveniently ignore him putting on black makeup to play Karl Malone.

When you have a fifth of your affiliates pulling out on a show that is already in the red, that was it.

The OP is probably right but I wouldn't give a damn if they did cancel him for what he said.

As long as the left wing claims freedom of speech for themselves but murder others for their speech I don't care what happens to them

If we're honest, none of us give a damn about that but it's fun to trigger the left about their hypocrisy.

I agree and do wonder if USAID was funding these shows that we're losing money

100%.

His comments at the worst possible time, though, gave Disney the perfect opportunity to cancel him and say, "See, we care! We did something about his mean comments on the Kirk assassination! You can stop hating us and start watching our DEI and LGBXYZ animated films again!"

Or it violated the terms of the settlement ABC entered into with Trump?
Why no one is seeing this as a contributing factor is surprising
