Do Swagat & Gunpowder have the same owners?

A friend of my wife said they are owned by the same person. I didn't think so, but looking at their websites they have the exact same design.

I've never eaten at Gunpowder, but Swagat is a favorite.

I have no idea but I tried Gunpowder recently after hearing good reviews and was very disappointed. I didn’t find it anywhere near as good as swagat or bayleaf.

When is the last time you ate there? Because it’s gone downhill with the new owners.

Sorry to hear that. It's been a couple months. Didn't know ownership had changed. Was it recent?

We tried gunpowder a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it. I don’t have a lot of experience with Indian food but I found the food was very tasty and the service was prompt and friendly.

I think it was a couple of years ago actually. It really dipped when it first changed hands and then recovered slightly. I went probably 6 months or more ago and it still wasn’t the great Swagat of old.
