We have insane depth at DB this year and it FEELSGOODMAN

Edit: and after seeing Keys play LB in Whits absence Saturday, I feel confident in saying we have insane depth at all 3 levels of our defense. (Assuming West isn’t out for an extended period of time).

He is going to get more playing time. Really like the potential creative looks we can give with Spears, hes got a unique size to be utilize in creative blitzes. His talent is unreal, glad hes finally getting some confidence.

Anyone else get Honey Badger vibes from watching the way Spears runs? He looked very Tyrann-esque, especially on the pick 6.

No but that batted ball Perkins did at the LOS reminded me of Honey Badger. The only difference is HB would tipped it to himself and taken it to the house.

I just looked at the personnel on the field for Spears’ pick 6, for shits & giggles:

I thought it was pretty interesting. Keys is out wide because Florida motioned their RB out. Perkins winds up staying at the LOS as a spy, so it’s only a 3-man rush.

Anyhow, depending on whether you count the star as an LB or DB it’s almost like a 3-1-7 package. I’m sure having both Whit and West Weeks out makes a difference to the defensive personnel here, but I still thought it was interesting to see.

Who ya taking out?
Hes a safety. So its either Haulcy or Cooley.
Its def not Haulcy lol

If he moves up to Nickel back then you are taking Pickett off the field. Also not happening.

Its just an embarrassment of riches in the secondary. My god how long has it been since we could say that?

I remember when the little short guy was here, we had packages named after every state, looks like much of the same. But with Baker, he likes to being pressure. SEC teams will feel this pressure. Baker having played the LB position, knows they want to get after the QB. Kyle Williams has his down linemen, engaged with the OL, creating an open lane to the QB. The Defense is so much more fun to watch.
Lagway was throwing out INT’s, like a carnival rider throwing beads on a float, in NOLA.
