In a game like that. When Lagway is literally completing more passes to us than his WR’s. You need to play it like that and don’t frick it up. Offense definitely has to wake up. But you have to be able to win games like that. 3-0 is 3-0. We’ll find out a lot in Oxford in a couple of weeks .

I understand. The only issue is that the offense is out of sync. If we had run the ball effectively and converted third downs and controlled the clock, nobody would be conplaining.

They would have found something, trust me.

Some sanity in analysis. Thank you. The balance of what I’ve seen the last 18 hours is cringe worthy nonsense.

The offensive strategy to win this game was conservative. CBK said it. Our best offensive player was the punter.

Was Nuss playing conservative when he threw that pick? I wish he would have more situational awareness sometimes.

I mean I wouldn’t even say we were “conservative” until the Nuss interception. At that point it was obvious BK just shut it down and didn’t risk anything. Which was the smart move at that point.

Before that, it wasn’t conservative just completely inept minus 1 TD drive.

The play calling has been noticeably more conservative whenever we get a lead, but that’s playing to not lose and not playing to win.

With this defense, that's the smart thing to do...

It is, until it isn’t. Eventually someone will be able to move the ball and score against us and I’d like for us to be able to do the same.

So at that point, they shouldn't be conservative IMO.

In the games we've played so far, it made sense to be conservative.

Conservative is a fair term to describe the offense but it’s also a scapegoat because we’re also incapable of moving the ball.

I think Nuss is not comfortable in the pocket bc the OLine has not gelled completely together. They are keeping him from getting sacked but he looks rushed. Also the trust in the WRs is not there. Last year he trusted Lacey, and Taylor. Then he trusted Anderson. This year he has no one to trust outside of Anderson. This week is going to show a lot about the offense bc the Defense of SLU should not be hard to run on.

I think we could move the ball if we started throwing 90% of the time, Nuss seems to get in a rhythm and play better when that happens.

Just hasn't been a need for it yet. I think there is also chemistry still being built between all the new starters.

SLU is a good opportunity to get Nuss under center more and run some I-formation

Nothing will change with offensive play unless Kelly makes a change.

We were a missed holding call away from basically being tied. Florida was in field goal range several times in the fourth. It changed everything being down by 10. Being conservative is an excuse for not being able to execute even the simple stuff.

Ah yes, 23m ToP on +4 turnovers.
Peak ball control.
