Did we give Sloan too much credit for JD’s development in year 2?

We all thought Sloan was a genius QB coach after the way Daniels played in 23.

But maybe Sloan was just a bystander and JD just maximized his ability through his own hard work and determination.

Sloan can’t seem to develop Nuss, who can show flashes of brilliance but is still the same mistake prone QB he’s been since he arrived on campus.

We absolutely did. I’ve seen guys say he had almost nothing to do with JDs jump.

JD going to Cali during the summer seemed to improve his game. Didn’t the VR thing also help? I remember him saying in an interview stating he was using it often.

Nuss has hit his ceiling. It isn't Sloan. Did you see the interception he threw last night? That isn't coaching, it's a qb who will never develop past what he is right now.

JD gave Sloan 0 credit during the draft process. It was all JD working on his own, Denbrock, Marucci, and our VR setup that caused JD’s massive improvement.

BK kept Sloan to secure Underwood. When that didn't happen, he tried to get Tommy Rees in the Spring to no avail. Now here we are.

Sloan has been Peter Principled. He cannot focus on what he is good at because he is not capable of running the show.

This may be CBK's undoing, he already wasted an elite O with House as the DC. Sloan should have never been elevated and if he was going to leave, tell him to kick rocks.

Nuss seems to be kind of a basketcase man

He can turn it around but he looks fricking shellshocked most of the time

Honestly I think it was just JD finally understanding himself as an athlete.

Nuss is out-classed athletically at many points throughout the game…if he is kept clean and finds a rhythm, he can do enough to score some points but his inability to be an athlete and make athletic throws holds the offense back
