Ole Miss did the right thing by quickly firing their professor. However, Clemson has three professors who all posted to social media praising Kirk's death. Here is the latest one:

Here is Clemson's statement:

Basically "It's so awful, but we aren't going to do anything about it because the constitution won't let us."

By the way, the constitution didn't stop MTSU or Ole Miss from firing their professors and both of those schools are public as well.

The constitution 100 percent gives them the power to fire these demons without violating the 1st amendment

A group of Clemson students needs to sue Clemson saying they are providing an unsafe environment by employing someone who is actively advocating for students who hold their conservative view to be killed.

When donors threaten them, they’ll interpret the Constitution differently

Freedom of consequences. If the school wont fire these dirtbags, then hopefully some parents (and students themselves) decide not to go to the school and their enrollment drops.

Clemson needs their fans to withhold money to punish them.

Everything about Clemson seems to be a fake

Ole Miss pussed out years ago and abandoned all of its heritage (Colonel Reb, the flag, From Dixie with Love)

the constitution only limits what the GOVERNMENT can do wrt 'free speech' = ordinary people can do whatever their passions compel them as long as they don't break the law.

- there was a time when people were careful about their words because you could invite some serious arse-whupping with careless mouthing.

These people running around shouting 'HITLER" and "FASCIST" would have been slapped into a puddle.

We have screwed the pooch with the advent of this thing called "hate speech" - when only one segment of society gets to define what "hate" actually entails. It turns out that they are the ones who spew the most actual hate. To them truth is 'hateful'.

People used to be a lot more congenial when everyone had a six-gun on their hip.

Different chancellor made those decisions.

An institution’s culture is not what they say it is; it is what they hire and promote.

Tubby asked them to do it because it was killing him on the recruiting trail.

He's based and MAGA.

y'all are about to witness first-hand how that school has always handled its problems - they simply ignore them - and wait for time to pass -

https://www.fitsnews.com/2025/09/13/clemson-pilloried-for-weak-response-to-far-left-hate-speech/

quote:

While Clemson waffled, conservatives in the S.C. Freedom Caucus took the lead in responding at the state level.

“That’s it,” caucus chairman Jordan Pace noted. “Now Clemson faculty is inciting violence against conservatives. It’s time for a special session to end this.”

Pace’s group subsequently called for S.C. House speaker Murrell Smith to call a special session to “rescind budget appropriations for Clemson University” and pass H. 3927, a bill which would eliminate divisive, indoctrinating DEI programs at all institutions of higher learning in the Palmetto State.

Smith’s silence on the matter was deafening, unfortunately, as was the silence of Nikki Haley – a former South Carolina governor who happens to be a member of Clemson’s board of trustees.

At both OM and MTSU, the people fired were admin, not faculty. I have no idea if the Clemson profs are tenured or not, but that and fear of the faculty response at large if there were firings is probably what led to the weak response from CU. If the SC legislature really starts procedures to defund Clemson, this thing is going to get really interesting in a hurry.

I mean that first quote was directly encouraging people to commit murders

The constitution does not protect that from consequences

it will happen by the end of the week

Agree. That crosses the line - especially in Kirk's case. His killing was a direct attack on academic freedom.
