While a valid point, and hopefully the one Portnoy intended to make... saying Trump has a part in it because, basically, he is viscerally hated by the left is a rather stunning remark to make.
And stupid.
If Trump ceased to exist tomorrow, TPUSA and all that it embodies would still be hated.

He does call them out.
He just points to the fact that so long as Trump breathes air, it is partly why other conservatives are hurt or killed.

I don’t think Trump is a one-off. He’s just very galvanizing to his supporters. He will be replaced by someone who is likely very galvanizing to the same demographics and the Left will try to turn the next person into their view of Trump.

The thing to remember about Portnoy is that he went to and loves Michigan.
Michigan was one of the first schools to adopt the credo that if you’re not a far leftwing fricking whackjob you better keep your mouth fricking shut. It’s basically the Berkeley of the Midwest.
So, basically what he’s saying is that Trump refuses to kowtow to the far left insane fricking nut jobs out there who demand that he keeps his opinions to himself while they’re allowed to spew all of their leftist fricking insanity at will. Therefore, it must be his fault for expressing his opinion which would never have been allowed at dear old Michigan.

Yes absolutely. It was nothing about Trump. They rightly know that CK was in line to be President. A very effective President. He was more dangerous to them than anyone else they could successfully murder so easily.
