What in the hell is an assault rifle?

Its a talking point by some which like most talking points is nonsense

I even hear that the semi-auto weapons spray dozens of bullets with one trigger pull.

Yeah, how can you even take the libtards seriously with asinine comments such as that one

Or better yet, what’s an assault weapon? Because I think I can make a pretty convincing argument that a baseball bat would qualify as one.

It’s used to distinguish it from all those calm, quiet, conversational negotiation rifles. Duh.

All weapons could be conceivably be called "assault weapons" if used in assault.

So, when they take all the ar-15's, what then will be called a weapon of war of assault weapon to Democrat machine

Everyone knows that the AR-15 is 50% more dangerous than the wimpy AR-10... its basic math (although I'm hesitant to point that out because everyone also knows that math is racist)

It dates back to the introduction of the Sturmgewehr 44 by Germany near the end of WW2. It's round was between a rifle and pistol in range and power (intermediate) and it could switch between semi-automatic and fully-automatic. The term assault reflected the ability to bring highly mobile machine gun like firepower on the move while outgunning and out ranging semi automatic pistols and fully automatic machine pistols.

This distinction is still what the US Military considers to be an assault rifle. Selective fire, intermediate round, detachable box magazine.

A semi-automatic varmint rifle is not an assault rifle, but you'll be told it is. They'll call a Ruger 10/22 an assault rifle.

They mean "scary-looking gun".
