With BK as HC, LSU is 21-3 when rushing for 150+ yards. Only happened twice last year (237 vs S. Alabama & 158 vs Arkansas).

Piggy back this with the stats from another thread about Clemson’s rush defense being ranked 16th out of 17 in ACC last year. They gave up 149 or more in 9 out of 14 games last year.

I agree but it’s unlikely that’s happening.

The reality is Nuss will need a Heisman-like effort to get this win

Did they overhaul their roster like we did though? What teams did the prior year is becoming increasingly irrelevant in the NIL era. The game has changed.

So LSU will lose if we rush for 149 yds?

I think LSU wins but I don’t think they are running for 150 yards

Not necessarily. BK record at LSU is 29-11 so that means he is 8-8 when we rush for less than 150

It's going to be really interesting to see how the run game plays out. You have two teams that were pretty awful at defending and running the ball last season.

Clemson gave up over 160 yards per game on the ground last year and LSU was bottom of the SEC in rushing. It's two units that have a ton to prove this year.

They gave up more than 150 in all 4 of their losses last year.

No that's actually what people are calling their strength this year. They return everyone but that's the big question. You were a talented unit last year on a defense that wasn't very good. Will those talented guys elevate to that next step or will it be more of the same?

This defense can pin their ears back knowing Garret Nussmeier will be a statue

That’s the key to beating them is the run game

You do realize they make routes called screens, slants, curls and flat routes to combat blitzes even when its difficult to run right?

Gotta pop a long run, Durham from about 63 yards out. A big play can make the difference.

I think we will be better at running the ball this year but we don't need to run for 150+ yds to win this game or for the run game to be effective. We just need to shoot for 4yds/carry and get to 100-120yds. Just need to keep their defensive line and secondary guessing. That will lead to us having 1-on-1 matchups on the outside which with our speed leads to a very explosive game.

Would running for 150+yd be nice? Sure but if we average 4yds a carry and get to 100-120yds then I can promise you we had a successful game offensively.
