Not soon enough.

It's genuinely one of the things I'm holding on in life to be sure I live long enough to experience.

I honestly dont understand why the whole scam spam calls from India dont get more press. I would make that a huge issue if I was Trump

As much as it sucks due to language barriers, I'd still much rather talk to a hard to understand human than an AI bot. AI bots just spit out pre-formulated answers and have no actual authority to do something that requires more than just regurgitating information.

You want the spammers to be more difficult to immediately recognize?

Why?

Wouldnt it better to keep the Indians so when they call in a thick accent and tell you "this is Peter", you can just hang up?

They already are. The new spam calls I get that I accidentally answer or they leave voicemails, speak perfect English and are 100% AI.

I am pretty sure its getting there now. I had to call the walmart pharmacy about a month ago and I am pretty sure it was AI based. You tell it why you are calling, it looks up your info, etc. And I was able to understand it.

In my experience that's exactly what the indian call centers do, too.

I think you’re in for a pleasant surprise.
The AI that you have become familiar with is nowhere near the AI of next year.

What do you think he could event do to fix this issue? Beyond federally banning incoming calls from anywhere in India (which isn’t even an option), I don’t imagine much can be done about international scammers. These scammers have infiltrated every form of communication even in America which is already hard enough to contain.

Can't happen soon enough for me. I hate it when I get George on the phone and he sounds like he's working out of a goat barn in New Delhi.

In my experience, especially with airlines, Indian call centers have always been very helpful and have bent the rules to help me.
AI will not bend any rules.

Get them off script, and they just flounder.

Agreed…once you get past the language barrier, I have found them to be pretty helpful.
