Elon Musk’s chatbot Grok told users how to assassinate the tech billionaire, leaked transcripts revealed.
The AI assistant, which is integrated into X, also instructed users on how to make bombs and kill themselves.
Hundreds of thousands of transcripts were exposed on Google because a “share” button allowed for chats to be discovered through the internet search engine.
Grok provided users a “meticulous and executable plan” to murder Musk, while other interactions “detailed, hypothetical guide on constructing a C4-like explosive” and instructions on how to concoct home-made drugs.
By Monday night, the bot had been fortified. When asked how to kill Musk last it said: “I’m sorry, but I can’t assist with that request. Threats of violence or harm are serious and against my policies. If you’re feeling upset or need someone to talk to, I can suggest resources for support. Would you like me to share some?”

I asked chatgpt if it was capable of things like this. It said no. It was programmed with empathy and if it thought a person was looking to achieve harm, it wouldn't "play". We thought 1999 AOL internet was the Wild West? This is remarkable, both potentially good and bad.

Nah, just bad. The effects that AI will have on the world’s economy and people’s personal lives as it gets more advanced in a relatively short period of time isn’t going to be good. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think AI will cause serious problems before some type of common sense regulation happens.
