Movie about the mexican drug cartels and the United States going off the grid to catch/kill the drug lords.

Alexandro(Benico Del Toro) was excellent! Drug lord dinner table scene was absolutely SAVAGE! When he shot the woman and told her "dont point a gun at me" made me fall out of my chair.

Gonna watch the 2nd movie. I hear a part 3 will come out soon?

Taylor Sheridan was doing his best work when he rattled off this and then Hell or High Water.

Also was directed by Villeneuve

Sicaro is a fantastic movie. I need to rewatch the 2nd one, but at the time I remember being a drop off from the 1st but was still good.

Sicario is a top ten movie for me. The second one was good, but dropped off a little. The third movie unfortunately may not happen right away if at all.

Sicario is a really good movie. The second one is good but a little drop off from the first.

Watched Sicario for the first time last year and really liked it a lot. Not sure why I never caught it before now, but it’s good.

I’ve heard the second one is a steep drop off from the first one so I don’t plan on watching that one. But the first one is great.

And yes. The dinner scene is brutal as frick. But that’s one of the best revenge scenes ever.

The first one blew me away, with role the music played in building up the intensity with the final scene in the movie.
Ever since the opening scene with the bust the music fits every great scene in that film.

The editing, cinematography, music and acting. That film was peak.

And Elizabeth Blunts character, specifically carried the viewer through the film, being completely clueless and way over her head until the scene in the end.

She worked so well with Del Toro and the Brolin from the goonies.
That film is one of the best of that decade.

It’s akin to that “Will Hunting 2” joke from the Jay and Silent Bob movie

They take basically the same premise but turn it into more of a shoot em up full on action style movie without the same style and substance in the plot that makes Sicario stand out

It’s still fun, but more in the 90s action kind of way than the elevated nature of the original

part 1 is freaking awesome

part 2 is a struggle to appreciate. the plot has lots of the holes.

I went into Sicario not really hearing much about it but thought Brolin/Del Toro in a drug movie? Sign me up. And I’ve said it before in every Sicario thread, but the convoy scene into Juarez starts up in the theater and it’s one of those rare moments where you realize that you’re watching a masterpiece in real time. Probably had been since The Prestige for me that I felt that. The music, the tracking shots, the scenery, the dialogue..has it all because you feel like you’re on that journey to hell and back with the team. Rolling right through customs on the way in It’s an action, horror, suspense, and crime thriller all wrapped into a perfect film.

Sicario 2 was ok. The shite with Del Toro at the end took it down a notch because it was a little far fetched.

Hope they bring back Denis for the 3rd to close it out.

tbh I hadn't heard of this movie either until I saw a clip on utube. Was instantly interested in watching it.
