How many of these people are on foreign exchange visas? Why won’t our government focus on making medicine more attainable for homegrown talent? I absolutely refuse to believe that there’s a shortage of third and fourth-generation US citizens who want to get into medical school.
Will Trump do something to stop the overflow of foreign exchange students/H-1Bs from India? For every group of 10 Indians you see on a street corner, 9/10 are in medicine, dentistry, or engineering. White matriculants in dental school/medical school are falling at an alarming rate while the enrollment rates for East Asian and Indian continue to soar.
It’s like these people come from families who groom them for their entire lives to become doctors/engineers. They need to stay in their own fricking countries.

Medical school is, like, a hundred years..
Wouldn't it be easier to film yourself annoying Bass Pro gun counter employees and get like a billion followers?

I'm just a little skeptical on that front because (a) look at this wife and (b) he has some ties to the tech boys like Thiel. I'm also curious about his relationship with Vivek these days, who thinks all of us honkies are lazy.

The F1 visa has to be looked at.
It's immigration issue #1 and no one is talking about it.

They are a problem. For every Jeet that can provide value they have 20 family members with a sub 80 IQ.

middle school teachers are fricking their students and making them basket cases by the time they get to high school. they can't handle med school.

I think they are smart. I think it is bigoted. An indian doctor in a University Hospital saved a few lives I know.
I say this is bigoted after a very good med school one of my kids was thinking of applying to was KNOWN to be brown people only in acceptance. VERY FEW non brown people go to this particular med school.
32% is not a lot if you go by merit and GPA. Why is the board bigoted, as some hated on Vivek; and think all women are fat blue haired retards-- that shouldn't vote or run for office?

Nor will Vance end the super gravy train of free taxpayer money that every single H1B can hustle from the government.

It's a myth that they're super duper smart also. When every 1 in 4 persons on the planet is indian, then the .001% of their population that is high IQ number large in group size in the aggregate. Also, they're known to cheat on the exams there. I don't trust any of their exams.

My youngest daughter has been considering Pre Med. She's shadowed a handful of physicians and the overwhelming opinion they are giving her is "Don't waste your 20s, go be a PA or a NP and enjoy college."
To which she is really considering going the NP route. A lot of our best and brightest - ones that would take the time to shadow physicians in high school and dig deep - are coming to the conclusion that medical school isn't worth it.
We attend a large public high school in a wealthy area. The Pajeets are either ranked in the top 10 or bottom of the class. Its weird.

quote:You have to understand the differences in cultures. I am American as Apple pie, but the Indian culture is based purely on competition. There is a class warfare in India. If you are born into an affluent family you have a better shot at getting into a university. If you are born into a poor family your lot is pretty much cast that you will never attain anything higher or meaningful. Therefore those born poor have to really compete to attain the scores necessary to get into a university. In the poorer sections of towns the electricity is turned off at dusk, so the kids head to the street lights to study. The first one there will tie his or her hair to the poll so as to wake them up if they nod off. I’ve read where kids that miss getting in by 1 or 2 points are so devastated that they commit suicide,
Why won’t our government focus on making medicine more attainable for homegrown talent?
There are’t any American kids that desperate, sorry to say.
