Roblox May Be Cooked: Bans a Pedo Hunter, LA AG sues over pedos, Chris Hansen steps in

My original OP is below the break, but after I originally posted the story about the Pedo Hunter being banned by Roblox, this story got crazy. The Louisiana AG has now issued a lawsuit against Roblox, as first pointed out by LSUGent on on page 3 of this thread. LINK
Here is a link to the Louisiana AG's lawsuit, which includes a link to the full court filing. I encourage everyone to read the full filing, as it is quite damning. I didn't find a reference to YouTube or to the pedo hunters in the lawsuit, so these are all completely different accusations from the ones being made by Schlep and his team. LINK
It is now also being reported that Chris Hansen reached out to Schlep, the Pedo Hunter Roblox banned, to discuss making a documentary about grooming on the platform.

Money? This suggests something far worse than a monetary interest.
If you want to maintain your brand for parents you help the guy in an over the top way to show you are tough on abuse and won’t tolerate it in any form.
Banning someone involved in outing these monsters gives at least the appearance that they’re actively complicit.

Oh I totally agree, but Roblox apparently believes cracking down on this stuff would cost them money.
That dude they banned has all sorts of awful stuff about Roblox on his timeline and apparently has a YouTube channel also.

You sure you want to go there? The Creator used to have a Libertarian Talk Show that he hosted and was at the inauguration this year...
Might be best to not bring Politics into this one and just keep it on the topic at hand: Roblox and their leadership aren't exactly the greatest

Read into this a little.
Roblox has a problem that needs to be fixed, but from a legal standpoint, I understand their stance with this guy. I can't find any information that confirms his efforts has actually lead to any arrests. And if I was running a system that had it's own procedures for reporting harmful activity, I would require those to be followed and wouldn't want someone playing cowboy, doxing people left and right. Do you trust this guy to be outing ACTUAL predators, or is he just throwing out a lot of personal information left and right? Regardless if he gets it right here and there, there would be a liability risk with everyone else having their personal information out in the open.

I literally shared a video where they tracked a predator down, referred him to police, and then turned over all of their evidence to the police. They even videoed the arrest. He then goes on to show that Roblox had still not banned the guy even after he provided all of that evidence to them. They did not ban the guy until this dude released his video, and THEN they sent him a cease and desist letter.
This guy has 6 documented cases on his YouTube channel that have led to arrests.

We have not been as diligent, but this guy's videos have pushed us over the edge. About to be a very hard conversation had with some small children.

I started that video, no way I was watching all of that 
I'd like to think there is SOME good measures in place, and with Roblox being as well known and notorious as they are, law enforcement agencies HAVE to be monitoring it.
As noble as his efforts are, I don't want a vigilante on it.

My son plays it on the PS5 with no mic or keyboard. Any messages that might be sent to him I would see on my phone app. The stuff he's playing is harmless, and like the idea of a sandbox like this, but like I said in a previous thread, problems arrive when kids are on deskptops/laptops with un monitored chat options.
My kids won't be gaming on a computer for a long time.

I think the more disconcerting is Roblox’s ability to control their narrative. I’ve seen people complain that as soon as they post any concerns or information that contradicts public responses, they’re instantly removed by Reddit and other platforms.

We align when it comes to swatting/doxing people, it’s dangerous and there should be harsh penalties for anyone lying or fabricating evidence.
