Hell yeah. Let’s go.
This Rodri situation is concerning though.

Grealish to Everton. Man he was one of my favorites but something happened last year for him to totally fall out of the lineup.
Seeing Savinho maybe gone to Spurs.
Rodrygo incoming? I’ll take that trade off. Also looks like they’re going after Xavi Simons.

What about Ederson out as has been rumored for a while and Donnarumma in?

I know they're very different styles but if Ederson is out at some point anyway, might as well replace with someone world class. Although Pep "needs" the keeper to play out and Ederson is one of the best at that...

This one has been shut down I think

I figured Ederson was out. He almost went last summer and he hasn't been able to save a word document for the last 2 seasons WHEN he's healthy.

Donnarumma would be incredible. He's still not great playing from the back but he isn't as bad as he used to be. Still arguably a top 3 GK though and we need it.

As good as Donnarunna is, I don’t think he fits Peps style and system. I’d rather keep Ederson and give him an extension or roll with Trafford.
If we lose Savinho, Rodrygo is an upgrade but they need to be shopping for RBs.

Definitely.

I don't think it is AS big of a stretch as some but yeah we'd go from one extreme to another. Ederson is done regardless, either this summer or next.

So then go with Trafford, right?

4-0 City…

Lots of positives. New signings looked good. Haaland will likely get MOTM; but, it should go to Reijnders. Bobb looked great. Rico was strong. Trafford shows good discipline in goal; but, he’s not a threat for a deep ball like Eddy. I still think we’re a bit vulnerable to quick counterattack.

Overall; good start to the campaign. Very pleased. Let’s get Rodri back on the pitch and hope Foden returns to his 23-24’ form.

Reijnders my god what a game.

Easy to see why Savinho is looking elsewhere. Bobb looks like his old self. I love it.

Rico was strong.

Rico is a guy I was OK with leaving when rumors started swirling. I think I still am but he was solid today. I still think he's a bit small and not the impact guy we need. Nunes has really come into his own at RB. He's not Walker but he's not bad. Give him a full season and I think he'll be good.

I mean outside of Alisson nobody really is. Trafford had a good match though. Felt good to see our keeper get to some corners. Made a couple saves. I feel like he's the happy medium between Ederson and a pure shot stopper.

IF Stones can stay healthy I'll feel much better about the back line. Dias is great but he's still slow as shite and wasn't himself today. I still think we need to start incorporating Khusanov more. The counter is also a big reason I think Donnarumma would be a great signing. A surefire shot stopper would be great for this team. I think we have a ton of creativity in attack already.

Sneaky great game by Alt-Nouri today. He's what we've needed on the left for....I don't even fricking know how long.

I'm really excited to see how we look when Phil and Rodri come back.

Yep. Too depressed to come and post anything. Brighton was disappointing to say the least. Idk what the season will look like but it’s leaning towards another like last season.

I’m at a loss currently. For the first time ever I feel like Pep just doesn’t have the answer any more.

We’ve become formulaic and when it works it’s great. The League knows that Haaland is the center point of the offense. So they all park the bus with a low block to factor him out. And it’s working. His goal production is down 30% and he puts up most of his goals on clubs not in the big six.

They then quickly counter as they know we’re a bit soft on defense and our keepers occasionally have poor discipline.

City will need to score 2-3 goals per match to have a chance at winning the league. Right now; they aren’t getting close to that.

Injuries haven’t helped and we’ve got lots of new faces. Lots of matches yet to be played; but, these next few weeks will be make or break I’m afraid.

And letting go of Gundo, Ederson and Akanji among the other lesser departures….I just don’t know. I’m not sure Donnaruma>Ederson although I’m totally biased.
I’m tired of the only strategy being balls lobbed in the box to Erl. When it works, cool. But that being the only strategy for scoring? Nah.

Peak Ederson? I'm taking him. He's slipped though.

Yeah we need Phil playing centrally slipping passes in to him like KDB did.

Formula for beating City:

1.) two men on Haaland. 3 when the ball is within ten feet of him.

2.) two men on whomever has possession of the ball on the wings in the final third.

3.) leave one or two men in the middle third at all times to be ready for a counterattack the moment the wingers or Haaland are dispossessed.

Rinse. Repeat.
