Our 19-year-old Kenmore refrigerator that we kept in the garage finally went out. Looking online, and nothing seems reliable anymore (I'm not shocked). The GE, Frigidaire, and Whirlpool "Garage-ready" fridges all seem to have problems based on reviews online.

Seeing if anyone is happy with a recent purchase and recommendation?

You will need to buy two so you’re not considered a poor.

i've never heard of a "garage ready" fridge... just find the cheapest one on sale that fits your needs....

Look on facebook marketplace. I found one that was practically brand new for 300 bucks.

you don’t buy a new fridge for the garage. You buy a new fridge for the kitchen and move the old one outside

We had normal fridge and freezer in garage. They weren’t “garage ready”. Never had an issue. And we kept a small fridge back patio for drinks. That one was much more impacted by weather and elements and still never had an issue.

Nevertheless if you get a freezer, make sure you get an upright freezer. Unless you’re just packing deer meat or something.

Don’t make my mistake of getting a chest freezer. It was always overpacked and we’d lose track of what was buried on the bottom.

The stand up freezer is way more practical for us.

I wish they made a combo with a big freezer on bottom and small fridge on top.

I usually get whatever is cheap on FB marketplace. I bought one in 2015 for $50 and it sat outside working fine until I replaced it with my brother's old fridge last september. It still cooled but was rusted to hell, it was a Frigidaire. I'm not spending a lot of money to keep bait frozen and beer cooled.

I just fixed my garage freezer for $20. It slowly stopped cooling (20 years old) so I figured it was low on refrigerant. Got a $5 piercing valve and a $10 can of R134a. Watched a youtube video and I'm back in action. I'd try fixing your old one first.

Whatever is in your garage must have once spent time in someone’s kitchen.
