Thoughts on Malcolm X...

Specifically his separatist ideas. X felt like black people on this continent could never recover unless/until they had full self-governance. He felt that white people trying to improve black communities only made them weaker. He felt like black people needed to separate and that white people in America owed them their own land where they could self-govern. That was the only way they could regain competence and self-respect.

I'll be darned if I don't think he was right.

Black culture just keeps sliding further and further down into oblivion. To be fair so does white culture, but I would argue that white culture hasn't converted nearly as many people into individuals whose actions are simply not compatible with an orderly and civil society.

I don't know of any white gangs comparable to the Crips or the Bloods. In prison, sure, but not on the outside. I don't know of white gangs shooting each other in inner cities like black gangs, for example.

I don't know of a white activity comparable to polar bear hunting or wilding.

Who would have thought that out of all the civil rights leaders, X's analysis would be the one to age the best?

There are 41 million black people in America. Is it time to give them Washington State and Oregon and just part ways? They'd have a major river for a water supply, several natural resources they could take advantage of, and seaports. California is home to almost 40 million residents and the square mile comparison between it and those two states is pretty much equal.

Should we listen to Malcolm X and just get a divorce?
