Trooper Myron Jackson gets sued for another unlawful arrest

The same cop that unlawfully arrested a mother on her own property that I started a thread on earlier this month has now unlawfully arrested a Doordash driver. The driver provided all documentation that was requested but exercised his right to remain silent. Trooper Jackson arrested him for it.
Jackson is a psychopath that needs to be given 2500 volts of electricity.
Here's a link to the previous thread on Trooper Jackson.

What a piece of shite
Crazy how that profession attracts both the best and worst people with very few that fall in between

That cop is a menace
But I can't help but wonder why the driver didn't just answer the cop's questions and be on his way?
"Where are you coming from?"
"I work for Doordash and I just made a delivery and I'm here to pick up another meal to deliver. You can easily confirm that with the restaurant manager inside here."
Was that so difficult? Was the driver trying to provoke the cop?

Why is the cop asking this question?

Maybe the driver recognized him and thought, "Hmm, I smell a lawsuit."

Because it isn’t any of that fricking cop’s business, that’s why.

Thing is it isn't relevant to the stop. I would just tell cop I'm driving, you have my paperwork, give the ticket or don't give one. And I stop talking.

And the guy didn’t want to tell him.

As a Kentuckian I can say that the reputation of the KSP has gone down the toilet the last few years. Let's just say they're not hiring the best and brightest. It's disgusting.

It's none of the officer's business what your travel plans are. They can ask but you aren't obligated to answer... at least according to google.
quote:
Right to Remain Silent: You are not obligated to answer questions beyond providing your driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance, if requested, according to the ACLU of Southern California and the ACLU of Virginia.
Politely Refuse: If you choose to exercise your right to remain silent, you can politely decline to answer questions about your destination or origin.
Reason for the Question: Officers may ask these questions to make conversation, assess your demeanor, or potentially look for inconsistencies in your answers.
No Admission of Guilt: Remaining silent, even when asked about your travel plans, is not an admission of guilt or wrongdoing.
Cops aren't necessarily your enemies... but never believe they are your friends. They aren't.

Because literal law professors tell you to never utter a word to the police

Thing is it isn't relevant to the stop.
If the cop wanted to determine if the driver had been in a bar drinking, wouldn't that be relevant for why the driver failed to use his blinker to change lanes?
Look, I agree the cop escalated the tension unnecessarily but he didn't seem to have an attitude until the driver wasn't cooperative.
Then the cop let the situation get out of hand and he should be held accountable for doing that.

Why do cops ask any questions during a traffic stop?
To see if you will incriminate yourself into something more lucrative....er I mean serious.

Which is why the guy essentially got arrested for doing what he was supposed to
