Jacob Misiorowski an All-Star

Only five games pitched in the majors, 25.2 innings, and yet he's an All-Star. I've got mixed feelings on this. He's got a wicked four pitch rotation with a fastball over 100mph and puts fear into hitters while twisting them into rag dolls in the batters box, but should other pitchers have been considered for the ASG before him?
I sort of feel bad for the guy. Just breaking into the Bigs is pressure enough, but then to perform in those five outings, be selected as an All-Star, and now his name is being tossed around as someone who has snubbed others. Unfortunate for him that these ill feelings are associated with his name, when all he's done is made a huge splash upon his MLB entrance.
How he performs in this game will spin many stories in the media.
Thoughts?

10-15 years ago I would have said this was bullshite, but now I just can't find myself caring. It's an exhibition game and he's going to draw more eyeballs than whatever Phillies pitcher he got in over.

I couldn't agree more about not caring for exhibition games. Not even sure if the game actually counts towards home field playoff advantage like it did years ago.

It doesn’t, which is a good thing.

His only bad start was in New York so maybe the pressure will get to him.
It reminds me of Puig being on the team his rookie year after about 20 games or so

Maybe pros should take the all star stuff more seriously, and perform like all stars, rather than a bunch of money hungry pussies.

Seconded.
The home run derby participants this year SMH.
Is MLB even trying to build their brand?

Blurring the distinction between the leagues undermined the All Star Game.
It was serious until the 1990s.

You think they should force players to participate?

And there are a lot of good players in it this year.

Ranger Suarez should have gotten that spot

Having to put a shitty white Sox pitcher in the game is worse than putting this stud in.

Watching him live against the Dodgers was awesome. 97-100 mph 4 seam. 92-95 mph sinker. And his off speed stuff was great.
