Im looking at a pole saw and chainsaw to buy. Anyone on here have experience with those?

Im getting tired of dealing with gas and oil. Especially a dang chainsaw.

I bought their electric weedeater a couple of years ago. It powerful, but doesn’t have much finesse to it. I cut around a lot of corners and tight spaces. Lots of gardens, beds, etc in my yard. Also edge with the eater as I’ll put my skills next to the best. Felt like I could finesse my gas eater a lot better. This electric one has a short, hair trigger to where it’s all out. Still haven’t gotten used to it and go through a lot more string.

I have about 1/2 and acre as well and one charge won’t do the job. I have their blower as well so luckily have two battery’s as it’s handy those are universal.

How much yard and work do you have. When I had 3/4ths of an acre I had all gas. Now that I am down to less than half an acre batteries are easier and are great.

I've had Kobalt and I have Ego now.

I preferred Kobalt's battery but Ego's weedeater.

I have a 1/2 acre lot with moderate weedeating. The Kobalt battery let me weedeat and blow everything with room to spare. The Ego battery I can do a little over half then have to charge. So now I mow the front, blow and weedeat, then mow the back while the battery sits on the charger. Sometimes it works out but often during the summer the battery is too hot to charge right away so it doesn't charge at all while I'm mowing the back. That is a major PITA.

The Ego weedeater is better so far though because of the powerload feature. No turning the head to reload line. Just put the line in, hold down the button, and the weedeater sucks it all in. So damn easy.

I had two ryobi batteries go out on me during Covid. They replaced both for free and then I realized it was ME who was burning up the batteries by the way I used the edger and mower(pushing them through thick grass until motor failure/shut off too often).

These batteries have lasted 5 years no issue at all.

Ryobi brand edger/blower/weedeater/mower has served us very well for 6 years now. But when I replace this stuff I will be going with EGo.

Not sure which trimmer model you bought, but mine allows for different speeds depending on how hard you pull the trigger. It's not as sensitive of a trigger as a gas trimmer for sure, but it's never been an issue for me.

It is helpful to include battery capacities when making that sort of statement.

I've dealt with chainsaws my entire life. I hate those finicky bastards.

Looking for someone I dont have to wonder if it will start. Plus, im older and all that pulling rope pisses me off

I have the Ego pole saw and it does it job, no issues. If I need a chainsaw, I would get it the Ego one as well.

I have a mower, edger, weed eater, blower and pole saw now from Ego. I did have to have a mower replaced under warranty though.

I have a lot of Ryobi stuff... I bought all of the same things so the batteries would interchange. Ryobi batteries suck.

I have mower, edger, blower, pole saw and weed eater. All about 4 years old now and I only have two batteries (10 and 2.5). No issues. Pole saw is great.

I bought an el-cheapo Bauer pole saw from Harbor Freight that has been amazing for the price.

Been having an 80v Kobalt weed eater since 2016. The only issue I've had with it was the head, which I replaced a couple of years ago (it cracked).
