I know that tips and overtime (up to 25K) will not taxed. Will bonuses and or commissions be coded the same and fall in that criteria?

The deduction only applies to workers’ federal income taxes and overtime pay as required by the FLSA. Employees whose overtime pay requirements are set by a collective bargaining agreement (aka Unions), with overtime pay that differs from the FLSA requirements, will not be exempt.

Good way for the Republicans to give votes back to the democrats.

Fun fact. Most union workers (not union leaders) vote republican and helped secure Trump's victory. Part of the reason was they were told that their overtime would not be taxed.
