Add to the list:

1. Pete (a below average day for Pete)
2. CJ (twice above 50 I think)
3. Shaq (hit 50 once or twice)
4. Ronnie Henderson
5. Petit
6. Higgs
7. Maclin

8. ETA: Mitchell 09/11
9. Thornton- to come

To my recollection:

55 at Ole Miss '89
53 at Florida DEC of '88
50 at Texas '90
48 vs. LA Tech Nov of '88

I seem to remember an early season game whe CJ was a freshman that he scored 50+ and a guy from the opposing team scored over 50. LSU won, but the guy who scored 50 got a standing ovation from the PMAC crowd. It wasn't one of the schools listed above.

Which year. In the triple OT game in the PMAC, CJ didn't have 50 (Gathers may have; I don't know). The year before I don't know, was that game even in the PMAC?

I don't think it ever happened at the PMAC, but it happened at Ole Miss. In 1989, Jackson had 55 and Gerald Glass had 53. Ole Miss won 113-112 in OT.

ETA: Hank Gathers had 48 at the PMAC in that wild 148-141 Loyola Marymount game.

The LSU-LMU (Feb 3, 1990) game was amazing. It was like watching a tennis match, back and forth. LMU would advance the ball up court without any dribbling. It was something to see. LMU had 4 players in double figures. Gathers had 48, Bo Kimble had 32, Jeff Fryer had 28 & Terrell Lowery had 20. LSU had 7 players in double figures. Chris Jackson had 34, Vernel Singleton had 22, Stanley Roberts had 21, SHAQ had 20, Wayne Simms had 19, Maurice Williamson had 18 & Randy Duvall had 12. Ironically, LSU was only 4-14 from the 3 point line. Sadly, Hank Gathers passed away a few months later.

The stats for this game are amazing.

I was young when this happened but remember it vividly. Very sad day. Great basketball player.

I was at this game at Ole Miss. LSU was down by 4 at the end. CJ shot a 3 from well behind the line, made it and was fouled. He made the free throw to go to OT, but LSU lost.

Chris Jackson was as good as anyone who ever played at the college level.

This was by far the best basketball game I have ever seen in person.

Hey Luckyso n so, I think you may be thinking of Randy White of Louisiana Tech, when they beat us at home in 89'. He scored like 48 I think, and CJ had about 50 or so, but we lost a tough one. We could not stop White inside.

Didn't Marcus Thornton put 43 up on Auburn last year?

Edit: Nevermind, it was 38.
