Ivermectin Now Available OTC in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. — Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry signed two significant health reform bills, including the "Make America Healthy Again" (MAHA) bill and the "Ivermectin Access" bill. The signing ceremony took place today at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in attendance.
Supporters say the legislation aims to give individuals more control over their health. The MAHA bill introduces several key changes: it bans certain dyes and preservatives in school food, mandates nutrition education for doctors, and requires food manufacturers to list potentially dangerous ingredients.
The Ivermectin Access bill allows adults to obtain the drug ivermectin directly from pharmacists without a prescription.

Making a trip to Louisiana in two weeks now, just for this reason. Wonder if they'll be able to ship out of state, or nah?
Also, writing our reps and Governor so we can get this passed in OK and I can just buy it in town.

I wish all states would do this.
Not that Ivermectin will cure cancer but there is some indications that type of drug can help. It's available to read about.
Not Ivermectin spacifically but antiparasitic drugs are showing some results.

So, you are against this and don't think it will help anyone?
And as for Ivermectin, it is one of the most used drugs in the world and won a Nobel prize, so it must help someone. Why shouldn't it be available without a prescription like most of the world?

There is a reason ivermectin has not been OTC and it isn't because it is dangerous. It is safer than aspirin.
Also I think it is actually safer than drinking (not drowning) water. Seriously I think more people of died from drinking too much water than from Ivermectin. I have heard of cases where people died from drinking to much water. I have not heard of a single case of anyone dying from ivermectin.
That aside, as it is just speculation, it should raise red flags when a drug that is safer than aspirin is restricted from OTC use. There is a reason and it has to do with drug makers wanting your money.

At my urging, both of my elderly (mid 80's)parents have been on ivermectin weekly since covid. They're the only 2 older people I know that did not ever get COVID and neither one of them. has ever had cancer.
I had to jump through 8000 hoops a month to get it for them during covid because even if I found a doctor to write me a script the pharmacists were being threatened with their license if they filled prescriptions for Ivermectin. Now, a short time later it's over the counter. How can this possibly be?
I am so glad I don't have to buy this crap from India anymore, just to keep them healthy, or get paste from a feed store.
As many have said, there is a reason why the general public was fought so hard not to be able to access this med. I think we will all find out very soon exactly why that is.
