Car extended warranties

I know there was a thread a week ago or so about whether to get or not. I’m here asking for any suggestions of companies that offer extended warranties after the purchase of a new car. Not the warranty from the dealer. Thanks

If you do it go with the dealer.

I use Alpha. No complaints.i had a water pump go out which was half the cost of the policy right there

If the odds were in your favor, they wouldn't be sold.

If it's a shite brand of car maybe get one. It's usually a poor financial decision.

Fidelity seems to get good marks. If they advertise, avoid them.

Amen to that. I bought the longest extended warranty I could from Mercedes Baton Rouge when I bought my car. Seven years, 100,000 miles. It’s extended warranty from the dealer and no difference from factory warranty. I’m in their pocket now.

I am sure some fan fellow from Bangladesh will call you within the next couple of hours offering a deal you can’t pass up…

Why don't you read that thread and understand the poor financial decision it is to buy and extended warranty.
Take the ~$2000 you would spend on that warranty and invest it in something like VOO. Do this every time you think you need an extended warranty on anything and you will finish ahead in life.
Warranties are sold to make money for sellers and not to save buyers money, it is simple economics.

I have endurance. It has already paid for itself. Replaced the entire transmission on an Infiniti. I bought it when I found out the CVR’s are prone to transmission problems. Dealer wanted more than $6000. Replaced water pump and repaired AC issues on my daughter’s. Hers is a conquer so I knew it would have problems.

Only from the gains, not principle. I am going to assume OP is not make $600,000 a year, so it will be 15% tax on gains.

Premier Protection just saved my arse this week.
Got an extended warranty on a BMW X5 I bought with 50k and the OG warranty was out.
Had all kinda of stuff that needed to be done at 85k and rang up a bill for $4500.
Mechanic called the warranty group and they are covering $3300 of that.
Makes $1200 not seem so bad.
Won’t cover wear and tear items though but they are certainly worth it for covering huge ticket items like transmissions and engine issues which can be 10s of thousands of dollars.
It just so happened to cover some things I never thought they would this time. Control Arms, bushings, ignition coils. These German cars will wreck your bank account with no warranty.
Basically it paid for the warranty itself this time for me.
Anyway it’s also worth the piece of mind.

Why, they are not reliable.

Proof
You paid $1200 and they paid $3300. How much did warranty cost, that is your true out of pocket cost so far. What mileage does the warranty expire. Most long term are through 100,000 miles and you are at 85,000 now.

I never get them. I don’t keep my cars longer than 4 to 6 years most of the time and gamble the year or two they are out of warranty.

I understand what you are saying and I’ve never bought the extended warranty. However we are looking at a genesis gv80 and an aviator. The Genesis has 27” wide screen on the dash and the aviator is huge too. The amount of bells and whistles and motors for the seats etc makes me think it wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Get the manufacturer's warranty.
