Going off the financial grid - hypothetical scenario

Let’s say you have $2,000,000 in accounts and you decide you want to live off of the financial grid, not to be found, but still have access to your funds. What do you do? You can’t just transfer your funds to a bank, walk in, withdraw $2,000,000 in cash, and leave with a suitcase full of money.
Is the only option crypto? I feel like this would still be traceable.
What other options are there?
This is a hypothetical scenario.

You need cash or other fungible physical assets. You need to own no real estate or vehicles, have no bank accounts, hold no “real” jobs (jobs that report income or payroll to the IRS), hold no insurance policies, etc.
To be off the grid, you must be both self-reliant AND judgment proof (i.e. a court cannot find you to serve you or seize assets). If you pay property taxes, income taxes, or have a car, they can easily find you. If you own real estate or have a bank account, they can seize it.

Buy lots of silver and gold in a series of transactions. Sell as needed.
Not see how you can realistically stay off the radar though.

quote:sure you can (not with cash but a cashiers check). but that would be stupid
You can’t just transfer your funds to a bank, walk in, withdraw $2,000,000 in cash, and leave with a suitcase full of money.
just move your money to a checking account and withdraw cash in chunks

Stash your cash in a geocache.

Need it diversified for safety across multiple accounts to not exceed FDIC insurance or if one of the accounts gets hacked.

I mean, you can…. Might raise some questions. But ya can.

ok…get 10 cashiers checks for 200K each.
open 10 checking accounts.
withdraw cash from each in 4 figure increments until they are empty

$2mil would be nothing more than some gold coins and prepaid visas.
Higher amounts would be a fine art that you liquidate piece by piece as needed.
High wealth would just entail a larger fine art horde that you spread out between freeports in Singapore, Switzerland, and UAE and hop around as necessary.

Safe Deposit boxes for security
You can walk into a bank and take cash out
In 100 bills it is a whole lot less than you see in movies, doubt the suitcase would be full.
Lots of other ways but diamonds and gold are problematic

If you are in crime already (like a boss, not a soldier) or you own it. If not, no way.

Cash transactions over $10k will generate a suspious activity report. Plus opening bank accounts will require a ss#. If you have serious assets, disappearing is difficult.

quote:that’s why I said 4 figure transactions. And if you are liquidating assets you already have a SSN LOL. Once the accounts are all converted to cash, you are “off the grid” as far as is possible assuming you intend to continue to pay taxes/etc. if your intent is to go unabomber then frick the taxman

There is already a guy doing this. He keeps his cash hidden in a bunch of bags mixed with trash and other things.
He moves his goods very slowly down the highway, inching along a small number of yards a day. He was in Louisiana last year some time. He basically lives on the shoulder of the road.
You can do this too. Good Luck.

That was the the case when Ronnie was POTUS
Now they report you as low as 50 bucks cash but over 500 assume it is already happened. Got a refund check from the US Treasury to cash and the young teller went through the question routine. Tried not to laugh.

We use to routinely have 2-3 million cash in the safe on weekends. It really doesn't take up a lot a space. It was a good mix between 100's and 20's.
I wouldn't imagine anyone keeping cash like that now with everything digital these days.

41.3 lbs of gold was worth $2,000,578 today.
