Lost in all the hoopla, where were all of these supposed great Chandelier players?

Their "ace" seemed average, LSU barreled him up well
The media slobbered all over the catcher and he couldn't hold on to the ball
Their defense was pretty bad at times
Their baserunning was supposed to put a lot of pressure on LSU but it was average
Solid team but nothing "special", probably middle of the league in the SEC
ETA - not trying to trash their team, the announcers just built them up pretty high and I didn't see most of that, other than their first starter.

Their strategy in game 1 seemed to be “please god let this lefty throw balls and not strikes”

Are we really going to act like they didn't have great players? Their pitching was excellent. The day 1 guy basically shut LSU down like Anderson did to them. It was his incompetent infield that gave up the lone run to lose the game.
Morrison actually pitched great until that meltdown inning. That one was really weird. Don't know what happened there it was almost like the audio thing he was complaining about ate him up that inning because his pitch sequence was weird and LSU was on the pitches. He kinda pooped his pants that inning. Before that he was rolling.
Their relief pitching was excellent. Their bats were mostly cold and and their defense wasn't great mostly because of the heavy winds. That's what happens to bats when you go against great pitching and LSU just so happened to have the 2 best starting pitching duo in the country. I wouldn't take anything away from CC they were legit LSU was just better.
They got 2 hard hit HRs that put them back in the game and right where they needed to be in LF. LSU's strategy was small ball and it was smarter. This was not a hitter's weekend with the high winds. It was pitching advantage and it showed on the mound it just so happens LSU ended up with the better pitching to win and clutch hits when they needed it like they did all in Omaha. CC stranded RISP in almost every inning in game 1 which makes Anderson's performance even more amazing.

Coach over thought his strategy and switched the Friday and Saturday starters, so that the guy who is used to having the pressure of losing a series didn't have to worry about that, and the Ace who isn't used to playing with that kind of pressure had to.
The pressure overcame him. He never seemed comfortable today.

He was about the only one who lived up to billing

They were supposed to be an elite defensive team

He was basically just throwing a first pitch meatball to go up 0-1 and working from there. Once they adjusted to that, he couldn't be effective.

Guess I was just expecting more with all the media hype and all.
Arkansas felt like a much tougher matchup.

They didn't change anything. They've been in that rotation for awhile now and all of postseason play.

Their batting lineup is arse.
No pop. They pray they get hit with pitches. They steal bases. That's about it.
I thought they were pretty underwhelming.

No shite?
Then the Sunbelt "podcaster" I listened to last night didn't know what he was talking about
Any way, Morrison wilted under the pressure.

I think the wind actually helped them more than LSU.
LSU was a much better homerun team, probably looking at blowouts in a hitter friendly situation.

The catcher is good I guess and will be draftee high, but he was not good in this series.

West Virginia and UCLA were more impressive hitting teams than Coastal.

Their relief pitching shut LSU down as billed as well. I'd say they were as "advertised".

Little Rock felt tougher than these baws TBH
The games were close scoreboard wise, but they didn't really feel that close to me.

Arkansas was always going to be the tougher matchup. Arkansas had guys that could take over a game and beat you, (as much is possible in baseball) Coastal didn't have that. Coastal had alot of really good players that played really well and put the team into position to win without making mistakes, except today they made mistakes.

In the elimination game with LR it looked over for LSU early in that game until Evans hit the mound to calm it. You didn't just have the pitchers having a mental collapse, our defense did too. When you look back on the season that was the turning point right there as soon as Evans hit the mound in that game. LSU never looked back past that point and rolled through every game. Eyanson and Anderson will be remembered for their performance in this series but never forget if it wasn't for Evans this would've never existed. LSU looked defeated until he hit the mound.

I was pretty iffy on this team being able to win it all until we beat Arkansas.
When Bear came out and hit the homerun after the UCLA game resumed, it kind of felt like this team would be hard to stop.
