A federal appeals court on Friday found that a Louisiana law was “plainly unconstitutional” for requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every classroom of the state’s public schools and universities, and agreed with a lower court’s decision to block it.

A panel of three judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit unanimously upheld a preliminary injunction that a district court judge issued last year.

You can display them if you do it in a historical context.

Slidell had this lawsuit years ago and won.

Oh look!
A law, written by lawyers, is challenged by lawyers, who bill by the hour.
It’s makes its way through courts, manned by lawyers.
After awhile, it’ll be thrown out by lawyers, then rewritten by lawyers.
Lawyers all getting paid.

The best thing to do is keep your children out of schools and places that do not uphold the moral standards that you wish and that are obviously necessary in a functioning and respectable society.

Keeping God’s law out of the public space is definitely not a good thing for this country. That’s not a “win”.

Funny how freedom of religion is upheld but not the 2nd amendment., gets trampled with numerous infringements. All a clown show, too many want a Government to tell them what is right and wrong. Reduce fed gov is the only answer to freedom

Landry doesn’t care. He announced this the same date he vetoed a Tort Reform Bill. It was a diversion.

I love to blame lawyers, but this is really on politicians trying to rouse their base. I guess Landry is a lawyer, but I don't think that is the core issue here.

If you really want to help a school kid with displays put classical paintings on the walls of the corridors. In college he can impress the girls.
Judy: 'Do you like this fancy t-shirt I got, Billy?'
Billy: 'Why yes. That design is inspired by Renoir's 'Figures on the Beach.'
