Can we just agree that we may not always agree with Jay, but he is a classy and a great coach. He shows our boys what class is. I am proud of our team.

He's the best coach in America.

He’s the best and he is a baseball savant. He doesn’t guess and has a plan for everything. There is nobody better to lead LSU baseball.

i don’t need to qualify my appreciation of Jay.
I always trust him

I wouldn’t want any other coach….that is for sure!

To think people didn’t want to fire Mainieri

He’s gotten to two MCWS finals in 2 of the last 3 years. Anyone saying they’d rather have any other coach is mentally deficient and probably needs to be in an institution.

I really enjoyed that post game interview and hearing Coach Jay defend Cowen in the reporter questioning about recent performances not being up to par so to speak. Jay “Lemme correct you on that question, he was the best reliever in all of college baseball this year”.
I love that. Don’t let any past negativity drive your next outing, stay positive about today and focus.

Best part I loved was regular season fans would tell Jay he was screwing up. I simply asked them how many Nattys they won?

He's incredible. I am so glad his critics have to stay quiet now. No doubt they wait for the next opportunity to trash him or discredit him which is pathetic. It disgusted me to see even some LSU fans on here discrediting him for 2023. He had to rebuild that entire pitching staff. And no it wasn't just Skenes. They don't win it all without the guys he brought in outside of Skenes and he still deserves credit for Skenes.
It's fine to disagree with some of his decisions, but it's ridiculous how often people get pissed about it. Especially before seeing the results. I try to take a wait and see approach while others are pre-melting. He seems to have a lot of thought into all of his decisions and I respect that.
I get tired of hearing people like Moscona say this is LSU they should rely on the talent to beat certain teams and comparing him to Les Miles. Some around here even call him O. Never mind the fact Jay has won everywhere he's been. That's so disrespectful. Jay does what he feels needs to be done now while also considering a plan for the future. He seems to have multiple reasonings behind all of his decisions. He's impressive and his former players speaking so highly about that impresses me.
I think it was Cade Beloso in 2023 after LSU won the Championship who said Jay is just getting started and he would win more. He went out of his way to make this comment and I thought that meant a lot. It seems like players really buy into his plan. I love that he also takes up for his players and speaks so highly of them. I remember threads earlier this year people made fun of Jay for speaking so positively about some of his players that may have been struggling at the time. He's big on the mental aspect and I believe that is equally as important as the physical.
I really thought Shores was going to be a Friday night guy this year and that just didn't work out, but he was still going to be huge towards LSU's success this year. Even if that meant waiting on him to get right after injury. It kind of reminded me of Thatcher Hurd. They get these guys ready for when it matters most. Even if it means struggling earlier on in the season.
Jay Johnson has been to Omaha 4 times out the last 8 seasons (covid cancelled one.) In a down year after losing a ton of veterans he still had LSU make a push when it mattered most. LSU nearly hosted a Super in a down year off a Championship. Think about that. And yet so many complained about him last season. What he did in his first season at LSU was equally incredible considering what type of arms he was left. And he made sure to correct that the following year and win a Championship.
Jay Johnson is something like 8-1 against SEC teams in Omaha. I don't feel like looking it up, but it's a really impressive number. So sorry if that's somewhat not accurate.
I'm tired and know this is long, so I'll end with this.
There isn't a single coach on any level I would take him over him. I do remember threads last year and this year with people saying they would take DVH and Schloss over him. I don't care how many times any of them have been to Omaha. You can even include Tony and combined those 3 guys have not played for more Championships than Jay.

Yep! Got this team to 51-15 playing in the murderers’ row (SEC) of college baseball. Sure, there were hiccoughs along the way and, at times the team looked like a ship that had lost its rudder, but that‘s just baseball. And here we are AGAIN! Playing for ANOTHER major college baseball national championship. Just chew on that for a while.

I’ll admit I kind of scratched my head at the JJ hire when it happened and really didn’t know a ton about him at the time, but over 4 years it’s become obvious to me that Jay is the best coach in college baseball.
I feel very very very happy that we have college baseball’s best and hardest-working coach.
