Watched it tonight at the secret movie showing at my theater. Based off a Stephen King book. Hard to explain the movie without giving a lot of details. Basically the movie starts out about a man that everyone sees ads everywhere thanking him for 39 years. No one knows anything about him but at the same time the world is falling apart. That’s the start.

It turns out to be more of a thought provoking movie. Overall, well done. Worth a watch if you don’t need action every 5 minutes. Goes by pretty fast.

I know two people who worked on this film down in Mobile and both said it was the best production they’d ever worked. They filmed during the strike so a lot of Atlanta crew hopped on board. Trust me when I say low-level crew members NEVER speak so highly about a set.

I genuinely hope it does well. I know it was a passion project for Flanagan and I’ve yet to hear a single negative word about him from those who've worked under him.

I saw it last night and thought it was excellent. I watched 1/2 the trailer and wasn’t familiar with the original story, so I went in mostly blind. An odd way to structure a story but it paid off at the end. That’s 3/3 on Flanagan’s adaptations of King stories. Bodes well for the upcoming Carrie and The Dark Tower series he is making for Amazon.

On VoD now. Watched it last night. Loved it.

The story is told backwards, so Act 3 is first. As OP describes, the action at the start is a little confusing, but by the end of Act 3 you understand what was happening. But Act 1 (the last part of the movie) is really where it all comes together. If you enjoy the movie you will immediately want to re-watch Act 3.

Looking at comments around the web, not everyone dug the story (or maybe just the execution). My only criticism is at the very end (the end of Act 1), they didn't quite hit it out of the ballpark to end the movie. The supernatural stuff is classic Stephen King, but I'm not sure Chuck had to discover that to live a full, intentional life. His grandpa thought it a curse.
