with revenue sharing coming on top of the NIL era, LSU obviously doesn’t have the funds to compete in all 3 sports.

Football is a must, everyone agrees there.

We are the most storied program in college baseball. We need to double down there and dominate every year.

Basketball meh

Agreed. Just fund baseball and football. It’s the two best sports and the ones people care the most about

You’re not funding anything anyways.

Men’s basketball is the only sport besides football that makes revenue would be stupid to ignore it. Football is the priority but it is a false choice to say you must choose either baseball or basketball

This is the answer that should end all these dumb Woodward/basketball threads.

Not if you only have the money to compete in 2 of 3

It doesn't hurt that we currently have a few other programs in the top 10 and very promising as well, in women's softball, basketball, gymnastics.

True. Here are two irrefutable facts.

1) The Wade frick boys/cult who think Woodward will be fired over MBB are fricking stupid. Scott Woodward is going absolutely nowhere until he says “I’m retiring.”

2) MBB will be fixed one day and I don’t give a shite how long SW takes to do it. It’s low priority. I’m a bigger WBB than MBB fan anyway.

Only need to fund 5-7 studs for basketball. Problem is that so many schools are doing it now and is the reason the SEC is at a whole different level now.

So yeah it is either all in with it or don't bother. Can't compete otherwise

This. No reason LSU basketball should be at the bottom of the SEC.

And I’m not ok with it either.

I couldn’t agree more. Football and baseball are all that matters when it comes to LSU athletics. Fold bouncy ball and all the Title IX sports into rec leagues and call it a dayl

You pretty much get a perfect look at the basketball fans on tRant every time we play a game. Bunch of whiny, annoying little geeks who don’t even care about LSU. I’d be completely fine with not even having a basketball program and eliminating that contingent from the fanbase

Baseball even at its peak hopes to be neutral on the AD ledger.

No sane AD would do what you are saying.

I’m not good with wasting a bunch of NIL on some guys who peak out in High A ball

You think if the football team went 4-8 or 5-7 every year, the football fans wouldn't be "whiny and annoying" too?

Baseball has made a profit for years and years until last year. GTS before you spew false narratives

Weird. I’m good with never watching another LSU baseball game again. It’s an insignificant, regional sport that pales in comparison to collegiate football and basketball.

this Pandora's box is just part way open, curious to see how "capitalism" plays out in this, do we just keep begging for more money to fund non-revenue/non-profitable sports just to be "competitive?" lose even more money to pay prima Dona kids to continue their travel ball fantasies? or do we let the the chips fall where they may and shut everything down except the sports that interest us? this shite is OOC

We’re dealing with LSU fans here. Don’t try to interject common sense or logic.
