What’s Kyle Williams up to?

He stepped away from being the DC at Ruston High after this season. Does he have other plans already or would he be interested?
We also have a DL coach still on the payroll…

Now Kyle Williams would be a nice hire, especially at this time of yr.

Other than him being a former player what would excite you about hiring a guy whose entire coaching experience is the last few years at a high school as a DC?
Remember when we hired Steeples? would be pretty similar

Any reasonable coaching hire is a roll of the dice. Look at Matt House’s resume as well.

There's a reason SEC teams arent reaching out to high school coaches to hire them generally speaking. You get someone you know can handle this level of a job already whether they have been in the NFL or college for a bit.
I figure if Kyle Williams wanted a college coaching gig, he would have done it. He left the high school a month ago, he probably doesnt want to do anything coaching related if he doesnt even want to coach high school any more. Dude already has more money than he probably knows what to do with.

He coached Ahmad Breaux & he’s probably smarter than most DL coaches from playing experience

He has generational wealth I don’t see him being motivated to go on the road, recruiting high school kids year-round and putting in the hours it takes to be a college coach.

Some people do it, but i think if he wanted to do that, he would've started out as a college coach.

Man, I hope all you people that keep posting up O's picture in these threads are doing so in jest.

Could you imagine the media attention if LSU brought O back to coach the DL?
It would be worth it just to see the world go nuts LOL

Exactly, Coaches teach what they know, and playing at the highest level successfully has learned a lot. Passing that on to inexperienced young players is what 'coaching' is all about. Williams and Mawae could help this Tiger team immensely at this point in time.

Steeples was only in the league for 3 years and only activated to 1 roster. I would say his experience pales in comparison to KW.
Wouldnt be asking him to be DC or come up with a defensive scheme. Just teach the position and recruit. Thats if he would even be interested.
