Are they still trying to develop him as a starter or does it look like he will be coming out of the bullpen?

They're still developing him for a multi-inning role. As of right now it looks like that will be out of the bullpen.

Where is his velo now? Has he added anything to his repertoire?

His velo was never as high as some where saying it was this offseason.

He can make guys that struggle with hitting a hard slider look silly,…..but probably not 2 times and definitely not 3 times so, bullpen.

He was a freshman with no real tape. He threw a elite curveball that they changed and he hasn't been that good since. He is a reliever, and will never start a meaningful game at LSU.

The one guy 777 said he’d be throwing 95-96 by now because he went to Driveline this summer.

I think people romanticize his freshman year too much because of a few memorable outings. His numbers were objectively better last year than they were his freshman season. The only thing he did worse was he walked more people. His numbers were better everywhere else. If you want to dive deeper into his walk numbers...He had 18 on the season. 5 came against Arkansas in games 1 and 3 of that series where he pitched 2.1 innings across those two games. He gave up 3 runs in 0.1 IP the first outing and no runs in 2 IP in the second outing. From the second Arkansas game through the end of the season, he gave up 1 earned run and 5 hits over 13 appearances and 14.1 IP. That one run he gave up was against Tennessee on a solo homerun by Christian Moore. This notion that he regressed is a tired argument that was started early in the season last year

Freshman: 3.77 ERA, .209 BAA, 42 Ks, 28.2 IP, 1.22 WHIP
Sophomore: 2.59 ERA, .165 BAA, 36 Ks, 24.1 IP, .1.31 WHIP

LSU Badeball’s instagram announced the rotation as Anderson, Eyanson and Shores

Guidry isn’t pitching mid week.

in 2 years He has shown 1 really good pitch. His fastball is passable working off that pitch but it’s doesn’t really stand on its own. I cant see that playing multiple times through a lineup.

that is not what i said...i said it was up to around 93-94 after spending time at driveline. and i was correct

He has never thrown 95

what i said that he added 11 pounds in Chris Martin's first mesocycle with the team and was weighing 189 right before thanksgiving and that if continued to add good weight and strength and could get up around 205 could prolly get his velo up to 95ish

he hasnt added any weight that i know of though since then. and in fall guidry was one of the better pitchers, hasnt been in the spring.

and yea he will be out the bullpen. prolly 2 innings max

he is up to almost 190 and FB velo is up around 94 in the fall and i would expect to be in the 95-96 range in season.

ok i was wrong for not clarifying. and was almost 190...189 to be exact according to Chris's post and i was expecting him to continue to gain velo and weight....he didnt.

i wasnt lying trying to deceive or anything...shite i been saying he needed to gain weight and velo since he was in HS. and i also didnt go look up the exact quote

and he was at 93-94 when i posted that. not my fault he has the appetite of a 5 year old.

Once LSU fans latch on to an idea they refuse to let it go until they’re forced to.

Such as Jared Jones can’t hit a curve ball.

Jayden Daniels is just a runner.

Gavin Guidry regressed.

Paul Mainieri only recruits small players.

The list goes on but the tenacity in which they cling to these false takes is ironic from a fanbase that claims to hate pit bulls.

Seems like his fastball is staying around 91-92 so his velo is about the same. I would expect him to run it up a tic every now and then but not consistently.
He has developed more pitches though. In the fall he was commanding a changeup, curve and of course his slider. (I haven’t seen him pitch but 1 inning this spring)
His pitches are all at different speeds so if he can mix it up well and keep it over the edges he should eat up more innings this year.
His stuff has improved, he’s just not over powering, obviously.
