Or realizes the red tape and bureaucratic hurdles in California to re-build are going to cost him a small fortune, and he’s going to need a significant real estate nest egg to bring to that battle over the next few years.

As far as I know he does. It is one of the houses on the east bank between the bridge and curve.

That's sad. If it was his primary home and he lost the other to Cali fire, I wonder if he was uninsured and having financial difficulties.

Circa 2007 or so I saw him grabbing about a dozen ice cream bars from the freezer at the Discount Zone on the corner of Metairie Rd. and Friedrichs Ave.
