I’ve pretty much checked out, but see the posts here praising Missi.

Can someone sum up what you see? Can you give me a reasonable Comp to his potential?

Well hes hitting the rookie wall now and hasnt looked as good.

Over the summer he will def need to work on his hands and maybe a decent mid range shot for the pick n pop. I think a better coach also unlocks him a little more. However, without a 3 pt shot he will be limited.

I’m guessing his potential is still a big plus. We desperately need a coach who is going to truly develop and mentor these players with a winning mindset.

He's an offensively limited player right now. Shows flashes but now that teams game plan for his roll/dive to the basket, he doesn't have much to offer out there.

His defensive tools are there but he's not ready to be an anchor and he's shot blocking happy which takes him out of the play a lot of the time and affects his positioning on the defensive boards. We're asking him to do more than he should be asked to do right now due to the poor roster construction. He's still a project but he's coming along nicely especially considering we didn't expect him to contribute much or at all going into the season.

He's a rim-running 5. He doesn't need a 3 point shot.

He runs into the same issue your bff BI ran into (operating in the same air space as Zion).

Because Zion is the problem. You're starting to catch on.

1. He's still really young (only 20)
2. He's an average defender, exceeding expectations, but still pretty average at best. Takes himself out of position too often block chasing or falling for a pump fake. Not an anchor currently, but possibly as he gets stronger.
3. He's still raw as an offensive threat, but he actually has more post moves than just dunking which is promising because he knows body positioning and how to P&R. If he can knock down a 3 here and there it'd be a decent threat, but otherwise he's not a complete liability in the FT department
4. He already has a decent knack for boxing out and rebounding
5. Someone said his peak is jared allen and I can see that, I would be ECSTATIC with that actually

High floor, moderate ceiling at the rate he's contributed thus far. We still need another big man TBH.

Shows promise but his rim defense is atrocious

Just can't see him EVER being a starter OR a finisher...on any serious contender. But...could become a solid backup center...when/if we become that serious contender.

Missi has shown a lot of progress but he has definitely hit the rookie wall. Athletically he will be a top 5 front court athlete. I've been surprised at some of his drives... he's flashed a pretty decent euro step. His free throws aren't awful looking. There is a chance his shot develops. He needs to try and work with Hakeem this summer. He needs an over the shoulder baby hook.

I don't think his hands are bad... they can/will improve... its really him understanding how to anticipate when passes are going to come his way. Thats just experience. There are 2-3 balls a game he misses bc he isn't even looking for the pass.

Defense... the shot blocking is good. He doesn't foul as much as I thought he would. Moves well laterally. He is just usually a step off where he needs to be or late processing a switch. He will be better at that stuff next year.

Long term, I wouldn't put anything past Missi. Kid is a freak athlete and a hard worker. He is improving at an amazing rate. I expect he is going to crush the offseason and come back stronger with new skills. Im still bullish on the kid.

Sounds crazy, but wonder at what draft spot we'd have to fall to to really consider drafting Maluach. Now he's a real high-level starting Center potential prospect. Outside of the top-5 (Flagg, Harper, Kasparas, Bailey, Edgecombe)-- then it's the group of Tre Johnson, Knuppel, Demin, Traore, Saraf, Queen, Fears, Newell, Murray-Boyles. Not exactly too appealing, so Maluach could be in the mix.

That's pretty harsh considering he's only 20. One of the youngest players in the league and has shown improvement throughout the year. FG% and FT% has gone up every month and he'd be averaging a pretty efficient double double if his minutes weren't cut back. He has flaws, but he's been one of the few bright spots and I could easily see him being a consistent starter on a good team.

We got a combined 0 points from our center position last night in 36 min between the two of them. Cant win many games like that.
