Find it hard to believe that a 76-year old burger chain exists in America that I've never heard of until today.

In any event, had occasion to eat at a Runza burger earlier.

Locations in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado Kansas. Place is legit.

Thoughts on Runza burger if you've ever had one?

Mainly bc of:

Never had one, but a former coworker used to speak highly of their cinnamon rolls & chili. I never knew chili w/ cinnamon rolls was a thing..

no it’s a thing in Kansas/Nebraska at least (if not other areas of the Midwest). Floored me when I first heard about it.

Tried it once and it wasn’t bad necessarily but will never do it again just because it feels wrong.

Closest thing to Runza might be Culvers.

The meat on their burgers was what stood out.

Also they might make those burger buns in house.

Chicken strips were good.

Make cinnamon rolls in house.

Went in thinking it was a dive burger joint not realizing it was a regional chain.

They're more known for their runzas (meat stuffed bread rolls). They are served with a side of ranch

a "Runza" is more like a hot pocket. They're really nothing special. Bland mushy unseasoned meat/cabbage in the middle of a bread roll
