As NFL players have agents is there a similar position at the college level? Who does negotiating sessions? Do they simply accept the highest offer?

I saw on the sec rant or maybe the sec recruiting board where the parents of the athletes are signing with agents from NIL consulting firms

Players are allowed to have NIL agents.

Can we stop calling it NIL? Most are just straight up being paid to play. What Livvy has done is NIL.

Plenty of players still have handlers, and plenty of schools still have their bagmen, but there is a thin layer of perceived legitimacy between the two because an actual licensed agent co-signs the deals.

This.

NIL, the way it was sold and presented, didn’t mean trial lawyers poaching teams year to year enticing players to play for their favorite school.

To be fair, NIL is going away when the ncaa settlement is signed. Once signed, universities can just pay their players directly

To be fair, you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about.

So why are universities already dissolving their collectives? You actually think they will keep collectives after this year?

They will re-form in ways that don’t make them subject to FMV oversight. The current groups and individuals are tainted as "affiliated entities/individuals" under the terms of the House settlement.

There will still also be "true" NIL.

I know someone who negotiates NIL deals for a few SEC schools. Apparently it’s like the Wild West. You’re dealing with a lot of shady handlers and some really unsavory “agents.”

College football spent decades trying to get these scumbags out of the sport because they truly weren’t good for the players. Now they have their hands in everything.

It’s the AAU culture from basketball bleeding heavily into football

First - boosters will still use NIL to boost earnings of players if rules aren't put in place to disallow it.

Second - nothing will be done about stopping non collective NIL ever.

That’s the question I have about revenue sharing. So let’s say the players start getting checks directly from the schools, that’s not going to stop boosters from paying them additionally for their “NIL” as a way to sweeten the pot, right?

Uh, her image and likeness is pretty central to her whole thing, wouldn't you say? Soft porn or not, it is a very nice image and likeness.

Not unless some NCAA ruling can be put into place to make collectives illegal. And if they do, the courts would also have to not get involved and overturn the NCAAs rule.

So the short answer to your question, probably not.

Parents have to sign for players who are under 18, in most states.

Though you may mean mom and pops getting their own deals, which wouldn't surprise me, since some parents were always working their own deals to steal Meal Ticket.
