Just saw it. Had to be done. In way over his head. Starting out with racial BS at his introductory press conference didn't help.

Wasn’t about the win loss record

Mayo was a disaster. Clearly not ready for the job.

Feels like a lock

The report that came out last week that the Vrabel interview with the jets went super great and they may hire him, feels like a move from his team to pressure Kraft to fire Mayo

I don't disagree, but why even give him the job? They should know he wasn't ready. Firing coaches after just one year is bad management.

It’s inexplicable why we gave him a job in the first place. Sunken cost fallacy. Better to cut losses when it’s clear it’s not working than to keep him for another year because it’s “good management”

By that logic the Texans should have kept onto David Cullen and not hired Demeco Ryan’s

Worked out great, got your qb, tanked again for a high pick, now bring in the real coach.

Same can be said for the raiders and AP. Never should have been given the job

Can't wait for the "discussion" to be had about black coaches being held to a different standard of success and not being given the same grace period as white coaches.

Probably because he lost the number 1 pick in the draft...

Head scratcher that they gave him the job. You’re either behind the guy or not. Unless there were signs of incompetence or inappropriate behavior, you give him another year. Otherwise you’re showing you never believed in him at all.
Only poorly run organizations do this stuff. Guess the horseshoe finally fell out their arse.
