I can't think of anything worse. Especially when your wife makes a big deal about gift giving. Traffic, spending money, acquiring more junk, fussy people at shopping centers, postal service being delayed. Bah F'n humbug!

Or you could order stuff online or shop a month in advance like normal people do.

This is me, but man, just having to drive through any commercial area puts me on edge.

It would seem like 50% of the population is stressed out and driving like banshees because someone else is going to get the last candle from Hobby Lobby or whatever. I don't get it.

Unless it’s an old person, no one is gonna be upset if they don’t open a gift.

Gift cards are so freaking easy plus the person can go wherever they want and get exactly what they want.

The alligator eats the item of greater value. This is how we learned it in Cajun Math class.

Oh I def. get that. I go way out of my way to not have to go down Veterans in Metairie anywhere near Lakeside Mall.
People just get to a special level of stupid this time of the year.

I was saying torture is more favorable to Christmas shopping. I changed it to clear up the confusion.

I just scrambled to buy a "backup bike" because FedEx missed today's delivery date and I'm not confident in tomorrow

I'm very fortunate. My wife starts little by little in July/August knocking stuff out.

Now I drive past the mall and kinda giggle.

I had to go into Walmart today. I'm rarely in there period but two days before Christmas, my God.

Theres pretty much no way you can have any faith in humanity after such.

Just a small army of fat, dishleved looking people buying junk food and cheap Chinese plastic shite for their friends and family.

My daddy used to go Christmas shopping right after noon on Christmas eve.

He knew what he wanted to get and he would always get it on sale. He would by my mom something and his mom something. He would be done is less than 20 mins. Sometimes he would let me pick out something that was for me from him.

One the way home he would stop by his mom's and ask her to wrap the gift he got my mom, when he got home he would ask my mom to wrap the gift he bought his mom.

Charles Barkley did something for some kids recently for Christmas and he said he loves watching young kids open up gifts and that Christmas should only be for the kids. He said anyone he knows, once they turn 18 he no longer buys them a gift but I agree with that. It should be for the kids. You can celebrate the meaning of it, but all it has become is one huge consumer event.

I’ve retired from Christmas shopping, my wife loves to make sure everyone, and I mean everyone, has Christmas gifts and feels remembered at Christmas, who am I to take that joy from her? personally I can’t wait for it to be over
