LSU's Black enrollment trending upward while white enrollment trending downward

I just read a thread where someone posted that Harvard's Law Black and Hispanic populations declined greatly this year after the end of affirmation action so I decided to do a diversity check at LSU.
Welp, I found that since the pandemic the Black enrollment has reached record highs while the white population seems to be going in the wrong direction. The Asian and Hispanic populations of course are growing strong but that's the case at almost every college and university because they are the fastest growing demographics in the country. However, they still make up a less visible portion of the population at LSU right now.
So why do you all feel LSU's white population is declining? I know that LSU weakened admission standards in 2020 by making test scores optional. Before test scores were optional, I never seen so many Black students on LSU campus and I'm Black so it's something I easily noticed. But I'm a Black conservative that don't believe in affirmative action.
And it's no coincidence to me that since LSU has gone test optional, its rankings have declined each year. If LSU ever wants to be a serious research institution and to be mentioned in the same sentence as University of Texas, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, UNC Chapel Hill, UVA, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and the rest of the public ivies, they will have to bring back requiring test scores and do what's necessary to attract top academic talent even if it will decrease the Black population. Most high schools in the U.S. (especially in Louisiana) are not challenging enough so no college should rely heavily on GPA anymore.

Why is black uppercase while white is lowercase?
I think that capitalizing either is stupid, but if you capitalize black you should capitalize white too.

I think what's more noticeable is middle class black families would rather their kids go to LSU over Southern.

I don’t think LSU will ever be like those schools you listed down at the bottom

The decline in white student numbers at LSU seems to be influenced by a mix of demographic changes in Louisiana, policy shifts in admissions, and perceptions of poor academic rigor and institutional direction.

We did a tour of LSU 2 years ago when my son was trying to decide where he was going. The complexion has certainly changed since I was there in the 90's.

Better scholarship opportunities at out of state schools. TOPS has made LSU lazy in terms of rewarding the best students with scholarships.

I was taught it was grammatically correct but if it bothers you that much pretend you see a "W". See link below explaining it.

Yeah many Black middle class folks don't really mess with Southern like they used to. They still love the culture over there but most of them are deciding not to enroll at SU because of the type of problems there. And also LSU campus just blows SU campus out the water ... it's hard for SU to compete.

Both my daughters received acceptance letters in the last couple of years to LSU. They applied as a courtesy to me. Problem is that when they were accepted by more prestigious schools with better locations, they both were high caliber applicants, it was a no brainer to go elsewhere.
LSU was good to me and my family, but I would not call today's version a strong academic institution.

I wouldn’t want a child of mine living in BR for 4 years.

Such an ignorant take.
“White” simply refers to one’s skin tone. While “Black” is an identity based on the shared history and culture of a population. Hence the capitalization of “Black.”

My wife and I both graduated from LSU as well as multiple family members. Neither of my kids even wasted their time applying.

It is not unless you are a fan of random, baseless changes.

The link doesn't show anything about trends broken down by race.

Not commenting on the LSU enrollment, but I'll tell you that the AP style guide change to capitalize black and not white is ridiculous pandering at best, and outright racism at worst. It plays heavily into the "white people have no culture" meme because the AP itself states the difference in capitalization is "having strong historical and cultural commonalities." It's stupid and a uniquely American thing that came about after a BLM push.
