Can we give some love to Kailyn Gilbert. She has definitely emerged as the one of the three go to's, along with Flau'Jae and Mikaylah, to get this team to the final four. Her point production keeps going up and she has been clutch for us. Originally from Tampa Bay but came through Arizona and I am glad she found her home in the Boot!

She is good but they need to play better defense.

She screwed up a switch on defense last night. On the next offensive possession Kim was yelling at her coaching her up, and KG said “Yeah, I got you. Yeah, I got you” while tapping her chest taking responsibility and keeping eye contact with Mulkey the entire time.

Seems extremely coachable, she’ll improve no doubt.

I havent watched much this year. I noticed Smith and Morrow's stat lines were low. Are they just having underwhelming starts or is that a one off?

WE played a small lineup and Smith/Wolfenbarger were not overly important tonight.

It's nice to have so many options. Even Jada Richard (our only freshman) can really play ball.

It seemed our post players were getting manhandled in the paint - Stanford was extremely tall and athletic at every position-we were much better taking shots out of the paint.

Our guards offensive play was money!! The team never gave up !

The first game I saw her play in, I thought the same thing. You can tell she just has "it."

Would be nice to see them mix in a little zone..especially when a post player is having their way with them like last night.

Stupid reporter to Kailyn: "You're not the biggest player on the court obviously, but you seem pretty relentless. What is your mindset going in there with the taller players (Stanford) trying to score and get to the basket."

Kailyn: "I always say I don't feel like I'm short. I feel like I'm 6 ft walking around. I don't see nothing with those girls in the paint. They're woman just like me."

You gotta love Kailyn's attitude, what a great answer.

Its a collective team issue tbh, lots of great offensive talent and players but individual defense is a issue for many across the board. For the guard they allow too much dribble penetration and get cause on screens often and out interior play lacks rim protection and physicality at the 5.

Its early December, what matters is how they play come March so hopefully its a good learning lesson. You have 3 months to improve and grow as a team on defense

Smith is playing soft and not in pre injury form. She needs to step up because Del Rosio can't or hasn't toughened up yet.

She’s the difference maker on this team, and we will go as far as she takes us, IMO. She’s the Alexis Morris of this team, one that can create her own shot, almost unguardable. Yes, there’s Johnson and Williams that are good and steady, but with no real good post players on this team, that third guard/wing will be the difference, and she was that last night

Morrow is a beast. Not sure where you got the idea she’s having a slow start. Last night wasn’t her best shooting though. IMO it was mainly due to the Stanford defensive plan. They crowded the paint, would double morrow down low, and dared our players to take outside shots.
