I'm down!! 13 boards in 21 mins vs. Kansas St.....10 boards in 23 minutes last night. And the activity on defense...the motor.

Man, I'd have killed for that last year - we had like 5 guys 6-9 and over last year and you'd have to put all their rebounds together to equal those numbers above from Chest.

I realize he was probably a raw player last year too but for the life of me cant figure out why he didnt play last season. We SUCKED on the defensive glass. We actually suck again on the defensive glass but we are really good on the offensive glass thanks to him at least.

Said it before and I’ll say it again: best motor of any player I’ve ever seen in person. He’s a fricking animal

Chest and Collins make huge difference on defense and rebounding.

I've always thought his comp was Emmitt Williams. The offensive game is raw outside of dunks/put backs, but you simply cannot "teach" effort and desire. There are a lot of 6'7"+ guys in college basketball. There are a lot of very athletic guys in college basketball. But the best rebounders all share the same trait. When the ball is off the rim they feel it is their ball and they are going to attack to grab the rebound.

Right now Chest is T-7 in the SEC in rebounds per game. The ONLY reason that number isn't higher is because McMahon didn't play him in the first 2 games. Had he done so, Chest would likely be in the top 3 of the best conference in the country. As it stands, he's continuing to move up that list seemingly with every passing game.

I love the emmit Williams comparison! Hosnoffensive game isn’t as refined at this point but his motor and intangibles being a toughness that we were missing badley. I’d like to see him and Collins start side by side, I think they would give us some nastiness on the boards and defense.id hope to see givens and chest in the future be our 1-2 punch for the future, I’m really excited about those two, I didn’t mention Victorious because he has the tools to be a one and done or two and done but if he somehow stayed 3 years we could be a legit contender

Chest is 63rd in the entire country in offensive rebound rate on kenpom, he is 141st in defensive rebounding rate as well. He's basically our whole defensive rebounding effort because as a team we are 329th out of 364 schools there Reed is ranked up there in defensive rebound rate too but hes missed a decent bit of time in like 3 games already between foul trouble and being hurt.

I saw him in the NWst game. He reminded me of Tyrus with his ability to jump out the gym.

His energy on offense and defense lit up the PMAC.

This can not be overstated. If you have the chance, get to a game and focus on the kid when he is in the game, esp on defense and the offensive boards. His ability to get from the floor to full extension, as well as the energy is the best from a post player since Thomas. He will never be an offensive force, but he needs to be on the floor as much as possible.
